Normally, I'm not a big fan of menthol. It just isn't my thing. I have nothing against it and I can admit that sometimes, it's what makes a juice good. But when you have a cold, it's Heaven sent. That's all there is to it.

In 40+ years of smoking, I never cared for menthol. I would've likely turned down a menthol if I ran out of cigs. But for well over 2 years now, my all-day vape has been menthol. Who'da thunk it?
It's kind of interesting how many people I've seen post about how they hated menthol cigarettes...but vape menthol all the time once they switched to PVs. There are lots of them!
I smoked menthol cigarettes for over 40 years. I could smoke regular cigarettes, but they tasted pretty awful to me once I got hooked on the menthol. Didn't stop me from bumming regular cigs. But I didn't enjoy them very much...they simply fulfilled my nicotine need at the time. When I switched...I went for menthol. I did try a few different flavors early on and found out I didn't particularly like them or want them so back to menthol I went...and I'm still there.

I was a menthol smoker, still vape a menthol, but I mix flavors in with the menthol and love
those. My aunt who is just starting her vaping journey likes a menthol, and she never smoked

I was a menthol smoker & I vape menthol most times, but I also enjoy Pina Colada, Cinnamon, some coffee flavors & some stronger Tobacco flavors. The weaker Tobacco flavors taste like unflavored PG/VG mix to me. I guess it's from vaping menthol & cinnamon! I gotta say, I'm a happy vaper with over a year tobacco free. These flavors work for me, so I can't complain.
My current fave all day vape is Tasty Vapor Cherry Cough Drop... I was a menthol smoker, and I love the cool, numbing vapor.
When I smoked I was a switch hitter. I dunno, there were just those times when I wanted a menthol. I agree with you about menthol when you have a cold, or more specifically when you seem to lose your sense of taste regarding liquids. When that happens to me menthol and clove liquids are the only things I can taste.
