I used to go all out with the big tree and decorations, but in the last few years I've scaled way back. Now just a small tabletop tree is nice enough for me. I still have the Spirit in my heart tho :)
I got my late SO a miniature tree with miniature lights, decorations and stand. She was into miniature everything. I looked everywhere for it but no luck.

Sure glad I wore that dress. I wasn't sure if I would get away with it.

I can't wait until we can scale back... but the kids are still young enough to expect the works. We usually get started around the December 1st, but I have a tripped planned to Atlanta any day now, my best friend forever is expecting her first child any minute now. So I have no clue what this christmas will bring! One good thing is we don't have to buy a tree as we are surrounded by about 200 acres of them all we need to do is fire up the chain saw!

Fran, your decorations are wonderful, I always love to see people in the Holiday spirit.

Now that I've had a day to recoup from our first (and likely last) black friday adventure, I've got to say the overall experience wasn't as bad as it felt when I got home at 3:00am tired and achy. All the people we came in contact with, were friendly and kind and there was no pepper spray. We only went out for one item. It was a birthday present for my daughter (she was born on December 24) that we could not have otherwised afforded and we were lucky enough to get the last ticket for it, even though we showed up about 5 hours after the lines started to get into the store. We picked up one or two other things that we got incredible deals on, so all and all it was not a bad experience. I just hate crowds and waiting 2 hours to checkout is insane.

That's because you live in Montana. It isn't as freindly in the Larger cities but if you say hello to someone on the street in Montana they smile and return the greeting. Over here they look at you like your going to rob them. I loved living over there.

Too soon for Christmas... I haven't made turkey soup yet (last thing I do with the leftovers lol). My shopping is pretty much done, now that my daughters are older (19, 23) it's much easier, they get very specific. Decorations will start trickling out over the next few weeks, the tree... goes up on my birthday

LOL, I was born and raised in NY and spent a decade lin South Florida, so it was very odd for us when we first moved here. The strangest was the little wave people give each other on the back dirt and small out of the way roads when they drive past eachother. When we first got here it used to really freak me out. We would drive by someone and they would give a little wave and I would be all freaked out asking my husband "do we know them" or "have we met them yet" "why the hell are they waving at us".

I have to say however that after 12 years of being here I wouldn't trade it for anything. My mom has been in two pretty big accidents. The first was in NY and the only people who stopped to help were the police and the EMT's. It was not on a big highway, it was a rural road.

The second was here, she was run off the road by a drunk driver on Rt 2, her SUV flipped three times. We were in our car ahead of her and saw it int he rare view. We Of course pulled over. It didn't take long for 1 car to stop and help, then another, and another. By the time the police, ambulance and hellicopter arrived (my grandfather needed to airlifted) there were at least 10 or more different cars of people that pulled over to help. And as you know out here, that was pretty much everyone who drove by. One person actually ran the driver down to get the guys lisence plate number (probably the only car that didn't stop) It turns out they didn't need to as his car was wrapped around a guard rail about 10 or so miles down the road.

In the other places I lived hundreds of cars could drive by without stopping, out here, every car that drives by stops to help if they can.

I know, I loved it over there. When we moved to a larger house we got up and got ready to load up and a whole line of pick-ups started pulling up and started loading furniture and boxes. It is a very neighbor friendly place to live.

Is this where we tell what we want for Christmas? LOL I've been watching Sons of Anarchy streaming from Netflix and hit the season 2 finale last night...and they don't have season 3! Anyone got season 3 and 4 on dvd?! I'm afraid to torrent it, since it's so popular I'd probably get popped.

I would also like world peace and harmony ;)

Bov, season 4 isn't on DVD, it hasn't even ended yet. I have all the episodes sitting on my computer. :)
