The higher the mesh grade the better. It gunks up the mesh quicker, but you're talking about a wick lasting 2 months instead of 3, not worth fretting over.

Also, all the mesh used in failed attempts - don't dump it, there's no need to and it's a terrible waste! The only reason to dump a wick is if it's falling apart due to being cut badly or if it's fully gunked up.

Is the mesh that comes with the AGA-T+ and wire enough to make a functional build?

Also, can I buy the mesh/wire at home depot/lowes?

the wire and mesh that comes with it is enough but i would get better wire like 28 or 30 awg kanthal a1, depending if ur using a mechanical or vv/vw device. that would make a difference also. 30awg 3/4 wrap if ur using a vv/vw

i vape high vg i use 325 with less than 3/4" width to roll a hollow wick and don't have any problems with wicking or getting gunked up. same wick for the past month

It came with enough for me to make a 3ohm coil. The amount of mesh (#400) was enough for a straw wick think it was 40mmx45mm. I would have preferred a smidge more as the the wick went dry if I wasn't doing the Genni-tilt, but it was usable, I just had to hold my PV awkwardly for a few days.

Home Depot and Lowes, other people will have to answer on that as we don't have them in Ireland, but I don't think they'll stock mesh of fine enough grade. If you can get #500 or #625 you can make a solid wick that will keep on wicking, no dry hits and no need for that awkward Genni-tilt (might just be awkward for me because I use a box mod).

You vape with the Genni-tilt? We have a rocket scientist (he of Doodlebug fame) on another forum who states VG wicks better on the lower numbers like #325 or #200 because of gravity and the horizontal vaping style, but #500 and #625 beat it on capillary action.

I found a place and ordered me some kanthal 30 wire and a sheet of 400 SS mesh, also a nice drip tip. So I'm all set. They also had pre-rolled mesh, but I was skeptical of that, plus I want to experiment on my own first.

Where did you end up ordering it from?
