metal taste and new rda clone

So got my hands on a new mutant x clone. Have to say i was impressed by the design. Deeeeep well 3 posts 1 with 2 screws massive adjustable air flow. Notice a few flaws though but im thinkin its just because its not authentic. Screws are too small and loosen easy came with only three screws difficult to adjust air flow and some drip tips dont fit. The metal also isnt cut good. Well anyways i rigged it up with kanthal and it ripped nicely however theres a very distinct metal taste. Has anyone else ran into this with clones or some other variable

I tear down the tank/RDA, put it in an old tall baby food jar, run hot water into it then put a few drops of dawn in there and shake it up really good and let it sit for a few minutes and shake again. After that I rinse everything really good and let it air dry.
Maybe overkill, but I'm not looking to vape machine oil or manufacturing dust... Clones are cheap for a reason, mass produced and (usually) bad qc. I get a $50+ atty for $10-20, I'm fine if I have to wash it myself :)

Im kinda new i have two rdas ive experimented with my atty quite a bit . when i switched rebuildables i jumped straight into subohm vaping. 24 kanthal is where im at right now with 5 wraps little but noticeable spacing. It maintains .24 ohms at the moment . wish it came with four screws itd be easier to evening the coils along with reducing the resitance even further i believe unless that screw hinders that idk
