Question and comments.
How are the powder coats and "metallic" holding up to "abuse"? Specifically the Metallic Wrinkle that is pleading to me. I have a Purple Sparkle VVG but it hasn't seen much "battle" as Silver VVG is my "war" partner except for most mucky, muddy, dusty situations. Then the mechanical Silver's come out. (Of course they all like to "swim" but that has never had any affect on any of my REOs, WOOD or Metal.)
As many know my favorite color is Silver Anodized as they hardly show even deep gouges but our colors are used in less "abusive" environments and for "dress up." Even our most "battle scarred" REOs, those I've re-homed from Classies, are significantly less marred than many old REOs I see pictures of. It may not be very important to a lot of people but I really love keeping my beauties in near pristine condition. Again, that's why our everyday warrior REOs are all Silver Anodized. (Being kept "at home" is no assurance REOs won't see battle as we live in a very rough and tumble environment with lots of places to get tossed from high places landing onto concrete or rocks.) (Thank doGness the dogs stopped stealing them a while ago. My Bubs are no longer babies.

)
So......................... anyone have any "war" stories about how powder coated and/or metallic REO finishes fare in extreme conditions?
Hugs, Feisty Alice
I have a Coppervein 18490 that I've used a lot and dropped a lot but it hasn't been in action for that long a time. It is still pristine despite many drops but it hasn't yet taken a moving, sliding tumble or slam onto concrete or dropped from a great distance onto rock or concrete.
{edit} Although I truly love the older anodized "coats" for their deep saturation of color I do think the newest anodized coatings, past year or so, are less apt to be moved/removed from dings, drops, gouges, etc., than the older finishes. BTW.... my old Polished Purple Mini actually has a place on an edge where the coating is moved into a small mound but the bare aluminum doesn't show through. Most usually the bare aluminum will show through. (DH was primarily responsible for most dings until I wised up and put a Silver Mini in his hands. Silver Anodized or select woods only for Mr. Clumsy.)
