I have the what i believe is being referred to now as the black wrinkle, was black silver vein, and it has been through drops on asphalt and kicks, the corners right by the door have come off, and the top and bottom under the door is wearing off, I can see that happening on the blue metallic as well.
The blue hasn't been battle tested yet and I hope it never is, it is a thing of beauty and I want to keep it that way.

The door does not bother me and i expected it as soon as i felt the door grinding on it.

And I really really want a purple now but what would i do with a 4th reo?

Use it for a different flavor, that's what I do! I have 6 and have a different flavor in each, but then I'm kinda spoiled. And now that I've seen the video of the Black Wrinkle, I may have 7 when I get my tax refund...........

I ordered a Black Wrinkle VVG in wee hours this a.m. Looks to me like one might be more successful doing micro/mini touch ups on edge dings and scratches on the very textured finishes than on the more shiny ones. It's possible on some of the shiny but it takes a bit of skill with tiny point of brush and good eye for matching/mixing colors just like filling in tiny scratches/nicks on car finishes. Gun touch up pens, matt and black, work pretty well on black REOs but it does wear off with lots of handling. I picked up several oil based model paint colors for touching up tiny dings on colored anodized REOs but haven't used them yet. Most people would probably laugh at my desire to "fix" the few tiny dings on our REOs; none are very bad. It just bothers me. Never mind the nicks and gouges in our walls from Bubs or puppy chew marks on antiques. I don't have those so close to my eyes very much like I do with REOs. And I've learned to appreciate well seasoned finishes on cookware (helps to have the influence of chef in family) but I do occasionally polish out the SS marks on our pottery and china using Barkeepers Friend (one of the few things you can use that won't damage clay and porcelain under glazes, and used for antique glazed porcelain, earthenware, and clay-ware with surface marks, scratches, stains.)

Hugs, Feisty Alice

{edit} And I've learned to have a "blind eye" to doggie smudge/slobber marks on windows and car windows. No way to keep up with those like in a normal household.

{edit} Metal marks on black hard anodized aluminum cookware still bothers me but I'm working on tolerating those and only polishing them out once a year instead of monthly (mostly outside only). It was easier to be so .... when I had full time help (or any help).

I think the black wrinkle is my favorite. I've had mine for about a month now. So far I've been lucky to not have dropped or dinged any of my new Reos so I can't really speak to the durability of these. The wrinkle feels fantastic in the hand. Its warmer than the anodized versions, does not pick up fingerprints, and does not hold a smear if you wipe juice of of it. The texture is finer than what comes across in the vids. It does not feel 'rough' at all but has just the right texture to feel secure in your hand.

I have the Coppervien Mini 2 (18490). I love the feel of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I'm going to adore the black wrinkle VVG.

Robert reminded me to keep them away from acetone. (That's in reference to my soaking anodized doors in acetone to loosen door magnets in past. I soaked one REO in acetone without damaging the delrin insert and button but it only soaked for a couple of hours, upside down in glass with acetone just up to magnet. The one I left soaking over night had delrin insert and button damaged, though.) In future I'll use soldering iron. I have one wood door that I put a replacement magnet in. Magnet is too small and not powerful enough so I'm going to let Robert remove magnet at REO spa.

The silver vein is mostly silver (more like pewter to me) with black showing through on the low points of the texture. The texture seems a little more coarse on the silver/copper veins than it does on the wrinkle. Not to say that it feels rough, just that the grain is a little tighter on the wrinkle. The 'veins' have a glossy feel to them. Think of a randomly dimpled, high frequency metallic surface. (that doesn't sound quite right to me, but I suck at describing these things...) The wrinkle feels less like an actual bare metal.

the wrinkle is all black. When its hit by a strong, directional light the texture on the surface does stand out. The high points on the texture can seem quite reflective in strong light so I think that leads to some confusion between the wrinkle and silver vein.

Hope this helps a bit. Did I mention I love the Black Wrinkle?

Been wanting to show these off anyways. This seems like a good thread to do so...

Notice how the texture on the wrinkle seems much finer than on the vein. Neither feel rough, but the wrinkle has a finer texture.

Gorgeous trio of reos. Does the silver vein have more sivler or more black to it? The 1st and 2nd photo looks so different. TIA

please do not tempt me with such ideas, I have 2 now and i am considering just this, with their very own 1 or 2 reomizers to go with them.

Remember that the Mini 2.1 with the larger drip well will be for sale soon. If you are looking at the smaller REO's it might be worth waiting. The Mini 2.1 will be great for the RBA's!

Silver Vein is more silver than black. The detail photos are actually cropped sections of the first (overall) photo. They only look different because you are seeing them much more zoomed in than in the original photo.

And thanks to everyone for the nice comments. I do enjoy making pictures, especially if I have an interest in the subject matter.
