Metallic taste

So a few weeks ago I had a few extra bucks to blow so I took a chance on a Trident clone. What turned me on about this atty was the adjustable air flow and the option to use a single or dual air hole for when you want to make dual coils. So I got it and did my first build, just a simple single coil build as I always did on my IGO, and when I took my first hit, I got a nasty metal taste. I can't for the life of my figure out why, I've been using RBAs for a good month now and have done many builds on my IGO-L and never had this issue on that. I double checked my build for hot spots and what not, and nothing, it was a pretty clean build. So I took apart my build and cleaned every single last inch of the atty the best that I could, I even swapped the drip tip thinking that might be the problem, but I still get that nasty metal taste. So at this point my verdict is that I got a very cheap clone that maybe was used with a ....ty material which now when I vape it gives off this nasty taste that won't go away, so I've put it down and gone back to the IGO for now.

My question, is this common with clones? Is this something that can truly be eliminated? Or should I just cut my losses at this point and toss it in the trash?

Thanks!

sounds like a similar problem I used to have with my kanger tank pro's. What the metallic taste usually means, is electricity.... yes sounds weird but maybe it's not grounding well, and going through the trident and onto your tongue.

I don't know how you would fix on a trident, but I know on my protank all I'd have to do is unscrew everything, and then make sure it was put together tighter, and if need be, change my head out, and BAM done...

make sure your coils are not touching the bottom of the trident (touching the metal) and make sure the wires are ONLY touching the posts in which they are screwed into. if all else fails, rebuild it again.
