I get the ohms and voltage meters but how would use a mulitmeter on a mod or do you use off the battery

A multimeter can be be used to check on the current state of the battery when removed from the device. Prior to getting an ohm reader I used a multimeter to verify the resistance of a particular build, as well.

I used to use the multimeter to measure certain lengths of Kanthal wire to give me an approximation of what the said length would yield with regard to the resistance of a finished coil.
