GOVERNOR WHITMER EXPECTED TO ANNOUNCE EXECUTIVE ORDER THIS MORNING!

According to an article published in the wee overnight hours, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is banning the sale of flavored vapor products, effective immediately. Although retailers are being given a 30-day sell-through period, brick & mortar and online sales of flavored products are banned in the state of Michigan for the next six months.

Take action NOW by contacting your officials and urging them to oppose the Governor's reckless executive action!

Need data. CAN it be stopped? News is implying it’s a done deal already. What are the specifics?

There are a few arguments based on what a mess Michigan was as a model for alcohol bans for prohibition. For one thing all it’s going to do is drive Detroit business across the bridge. It won’t actually reduce the actual issue even if the banned thing actually had an effect (which it doesn’t. That’s a different argument). BT has been angling for flavor bans for many years, mostly because they will drive cigarette sales.

It's going to take a multi-pronged approach, but it can be done. It's imperative that Michigan businesses get involved, though. Rep. John Cherry's Legislative Director advised going through the Sec. of State and start a petition to get a ballot initiative rescinding the Executive Order. That might be quicker than working through the legislature.

Of course, someone in the industry will have to sue to keep vape shops open through November.

That is if the governor doesn't decide to rescind her order because of public pressure - that's where consumer action is important.

NOTE: You do need to be a Michigan resident to participate in the CTA through CASAA's system, but you can contact the Governor's office via email or phone on your own. Especially if you buy from a Michigan company or you're a company that ships to the state.

Why bother? It's all over this coming Springtime anyways.

For Me, I do it because if for Nothing Else, I object to the use of Spurious use of Powers by an Elected Official(s).

If Lines are Never Drawn, and Objects are Never Made, it just Emboldens them to do Whatever they want. And One by One other States follow their lead.

Else we All might as well just Go Home and take whatever those we Elected think is Best for Us.
