Hi everyone,

I am still a rookie for coiling techniques and the different type of builds and I don't usually have a strong vape taste. However I am pretty interested in trying out a micro coil with cotton build with my GGTS odysseus V2, is it possible ? I cant find any videos on how to set it up, usually the Ody uses R-NR wires, but I am not sure how to connect the micro coil to the positive and negative side. Need some advice.

Thank you

Hi Steliosss,

Thank you for the video that was great. Could I ask some questions from the video I am not sure about:

Basically at the 7-8th minute, when he was coiling the wire around the screwdriver bit, he was only holding 1 wire, is that just 1 resistance wire, or there is 2 NR wires connected to the sides of the resistance wire ?

Another question was at the 17th minute, he was using the pliers to adjust the coils, is he spacing them or squeezing them close together ?

I always thought that if the coils are together and touching each other, it would short and it won't work, but in the micro build, they are meant to be close and touching right ?

Thanks for the help

With low experience with microcoils, as I read from your post, it's difficult with Ody or iAtty. I think, the better way is, to get a Tilemahos or Ithaka update, which are made for MC's, and get familiar with that kind of coiling. Tested mc's some month ago with Ody und iAtty, but I see no sense in it. I think, You will be disappointed by the results like me, although I love mc's. Ody ist built for silica and get in my opinion the best results with normal coiling, exspecially with Titanium ready wires

Hi Steliosss,

Basically at the 7-8th minute, when he was coiling the wire around the screwdriver bit, he was only holding 1 wire, is that just 1 resistance wire, or there is 2 NR wires connected to the sides of the resistance wire ?

He just made a nr-r-nr resistance by twisting the non wire at the edges of the r wire.

Another question was at the 17th minute, he was using the pliers to adjust the coils, is he spacing them or squeezing them close together ?

He had a hot spot and he's trying to move a little the coil

I always thought that if the coils are together and touching each other, it would short and it won't work, but in the micro build, they are meant to be close and touching right ?

The first microcoil ever, made by a guy NOT touching each other.
Today most of microcoilers let them to be close and touching.
Whatever suits you

Hi all,

Thanks bluegenzel for the advice, I guess my coiling still needs loads of practice, cause I have been doing single and dual coils for my Ody, just that I am not getting enough vape. I have an Ithaka but I thought it's build is similar to Ody, so wanted to try MC on the Ody as i prefer the Ody more.

Thanks again Stellios too for the translation and help, I would try and learn how to do MC, and hope to achieve the results I want.

Lots of appreciation for the advice guys! By the way I also have a multimeter, so if I were to measure the ohms, i would connect R-NR first and measure before connecting the second NR right ? To measure just put 1 point at the R and the other at the NR, do I need to place at specific points of the wire ?

put the multimeter 1cm away from the R wire and 1cm away from the R wire on the other side Chin. That way you will measure the R wire and 1cm per side of the NR wire. Thats the right measurement because NR wire needs 1cm per side for Ody's connections :)

Hi Imeo,

Oh okay, means I have to connect both NR-R-NR first, then measure 1 cm away from the R wire on both sides, meaning the 2 pins are touching the NR wire 1 cm away from the R wire ? Sorry I am really rookie at such electrical physics. Thanks for teaching me

Thank you all for the help, I cant wait for esmoke guru to be up and I will start buying some parts.

Btw, if I manage to get a Tilehamos, it is a 510 connector right, but I am using the old GGTS, it wont flush nicely am i right ? I dont have the rethreader and my current Ody v2 is using the GGTS base. Not sure how the new mods bases are like now.
