Hi guys need some help figuring this out. So playing with my RDA I get a odd taste from my lower ohm coils, not burnt but off, clouds of vapor and not much flavor. So I played around and went crazy and built a bunch of coils and what I noticed is whatever drill bit I wrap around if I get the coils long it taste good. Example
28 gauge around a 1/16 at 12 wraps = bad taste
28 gauge around a 1/16 at like 16 wraps =good
24 gauge around 1/16 at 14 wraps=good but slow to heat
28 gauge around 5/64 at 12 wraps in kayfun=bad

So what am I missing here. I see! To get the most flavor out of high wrapped coils

The main thing is to know your equipment. If you are using a Variable Voltage mod, then adjust the voltage to match the resistance of the coil. Google search for Vaping Power Chart to get an idea of the right voltage range you want to be in. The same applies for a Variable Wattage mod. If you are using a mechanical mod, then know the voltage output of your battery. By knowing the output of your battery, you can then build coils with an appropriate resistance that your battery can handle. Remember Ohm's Law is your friend! :D

Yeah all of these look like its putting your ohms a little high, especially for a mech mod. I usually run 7-8 wraps on a 5/64 bit of 28ga, and that puts me around .9 -1.1 in my Kayfun. I run dual 9 wraps in dripper using the same method and that usually get me around .75-.85. And I agree with the above, sounds like your having some wicking issues. Make sure you have plenty of cotton or whatever in there to hold as much juice as possible with out flooding the bottom.
