my micro coils on my protank heads are not sub ohm. I actually pull pretty close to 2.2 ohm on 8 wraps. They will drain the battery a bit faster but will produce much more vapor because it is heating more of the wick. You really need to make sure the wicks get plenty of saturation or you will get dry hits.

micro coils on say an rba though, i was never able to really get that high, maybe 1.4 ohm with 6 wraps. there isnt as much room to wrap them and they are a lot easier to short.

do micro coils follow the standard ohm chart or do they function on another spectrum like in subohm. will micro coils deplete your battery as fast? :D just wondering cuz i wanna build a safer everyday build instead of subohming it all day.

Yes an ohm is an ohm. But the vapor and heat production is much better. Micro coils will not deplete battery nowhere near as fast as subohm. My micros have been around 3.2ohms @ 4.2 volts which is lower drain than a 1.5 ohm. I believe it performs like a 1.5. You can effectively cut your drain in half with a micro coil and get Similar results.

Battery life will be increased quite a bit with micros. You do get sub ohm results from double the ohms. If you rock a .8 now you can micro to a 1.6 and should get similar results. In my opinion it doesn't have to be 1mm in diameter. It's easier and wicks with wider wick I go 3-4 mm the key is tightly spaced touching/nearly touching coils.

Definitely try it out.
