Hello all. I've been searching for a specific passthrough for my e cig and my lack of results brings me to question whether it even exists. I use an ego C type b LR atty and I wanted to get a new usb passthrough but I was wondering if, first, are there any micro usb passthroughs, or is mini usb the only option? And second, if I were to buy a special cord, say micro to micro or mini to micro, would I be able to connect my ecig to my phone (galaxy nexus)and charge the battery that way? My tablet has a usb port that works great but it also has a beefier battery than my phone.

Kind of a stupid question but just wondering who has done this and how were the results? Thanks!

Not being much of an electronics person, I can't say this for 100%, but I didn't think the USB port on cell phones will send out a charge....only sucks it in instead of sending it out.

If your ultimate goal is portable charging tho, grab a mophie. I've used mine to charge my tablet, my phone, and my ecig passthrus while traveling. Smaller than a smartphone, and holds a good charge IMO.

Ya, I don't think a phone's USB port outputs enough to charge a passthru, let alone power the "pure" passthrus(not much more than cable+threading+button, needs ~2amps)

As a PC tech I will say that I am almost certain that phones will not send the charge out that way...

Almost...

I'm ALMOST certain as well...However, because the port can transmit data outbound, maybe it could output power as well.
With the flexibility of the Android OS, it's possible a method for outputting power could be devised in the form of an app...how much power? I'm not sure. It's more than likely the phone wouldn't be able to output enough power for a passthrough from it's micro USB data/charge port to be useful.

If anyone has ever heard of a way, or has any knowledge of doing this, please chime in. I usually only lurk on the android forums, as I've found the answers to my questions by lurking just fine. Maybe it's time to make a first post...
