I only use Anker brand from Amazon. I also use magnetic adapters. Never had a bad cable. Also use Belkin. I charge mods and devices all day, everyday. Only ever had off brand chargers die. Never a bad usb port on any device.
I changed many cells on CD players and toys in the past and never want to handle cells anymore. No advantages really.

Everyone has this problem. It’s endemic to the design of microUSB2.
Disagree. Much depends on the quality of the connectors and whether the user is reasonably careful with 'em. I'm typing this on a tablet with a micro USB connector that I've plugged and unplugged twice a day, every day for four years. No problem. My phone is three years old. No problem. Now my wife... She always has problems with hers.

I hate micro USB s. Am I doing something wrong or is it just the cables being crap. They work for a while and then they didn’t. Does anybody have any advice re this problem?
I only use USB for updates, but I had one that didn't work straight out of the box. Have a spare and don't expect them to last, that's the reality.

“Everyone” is hyperbole I guess. Still, a connector has no business being that fragile imho

Micro USB should be for firmware updates only. Way too delicate for everyday charging. One of the top 2 reasons for only buying mods with external batteries. The 2nd reason is if you cant replace the battery you throw the mod away when the batteries dies off.

I long for the wireless charging pad I can put on my night table.

Surprised Voopoo/Smok/Vandy Vape/Vaporesso haven't used the wireless cell phone chargers yet.

Still too slow for the current demands to charge our batteries in a reasonable period of time. I believe Dicodes has their own charging system but no idea how long it takes or if it's a standard wireless setup.

Good quality micro USB sockets have a core made of fiberglass - loaded nylon, and the contact stripes made of phosphorus bronze.

The same used on good quality cell phones, they can last tens of thousands reciprocations.

They are not that expensive, maybe 10 cents each, if you buy them in the thousands.

What I have seen used in some mods, are some substandard micro USB connector s, which can last an hundred reciprocations at best.

Same applies to the cables. I now avoid the cheap cables as the plague, including some bundled with devices.

The micro USB connector is not the best suited for a mod. A calculator-type round jack would be the best suited. I have the IPV4 mod which has the round jack connector. It lasts forever.

Problem is, the European Union mandated an universal connector to be shared among phones and other devices, and they choose the micro USB; subsequently, it has became defacto standard worldwide (except Apple devices).

Again, it is not the best suited connector for vape devices. But when some manufacturers skimps on it, that should be pointed at.

Ask the reviewers to check the quality of the connector, and not to hold the game of manufacturers by suggesting the use of external chargers.

Nobody uses an external charger for the phone.
