Microcoil with 32-gauge Kanthal?

Hey guys I bought some 32 gauge kanthal on Amazon and I would like to know if I can make a 1-2 ohm coil out of it? Or if it is possible.

It'll be tough with a micro coil, because by the time that you have enough coils to heat up any amount of wick the ohms will be higher than 2.0Ω. I guess you could try it though and adjust the number of coils to lower or raise your ohms. Give it a shot and let us know how it turns out.

I usually to 8 wraps of .28g on a 1/16" screwdriver and end up at 0.9Ω just for reference.

Hey Willy, I routinely use 32 kanthal with 5 wraps on a 16 guage needle and end up at 1.7 - 1.9. Cotton wick, good to go. Good luck

7 or 8 wraps on a 1/16 drill bit will get you under 2
