It's been a few years since I bought gear, so I need some recommendations. I am woefully behind the times and overwhelmed by my choices. I think I know what tank I'm going to buy a FireLuke tank, but I don't know which mod I should get to go with it. My current setup is not powerful enough.

Current gear:
iPV D2 75w (told you it's been a while)
Kanger SubTank mini

New mod requirements:
Price <$100
Wattage: 150-200 ish
Durability or protective case availability - I will drop this thing a lot
Weight/size: lightweight is better. I have smallish lady hands. The iPV is about the right size for me

Vape style: flavor chaser

I've basically only used Pioneer4You and Kanger devices for like 6 years, so I gravitate towards them. I am 100% open to other brands, but not open to knock-offs. I am intrigued by a fixed battery because I have a tendency to run my batteries through the wash.

Thanks for your time!

There are two, one is single battery (but has been around more) and then the Geekvape Legend which is a two battery mod I have one and it is AWESOME.

Other good setups, (and keep in mind everyone likes different things, the Cylon mod (one of my favorites, quite durable, large, but great handfeel. I believe it does 200 or pretends to do it (sometimes boards are CAPABLE of handling 200 watts but it's actually impossible to get two 18650 batteries that will OUTPUT that) but should be well within your budget.

If you want small and inexpensive (but still fairly durable, I've dropped mine a bunch) there is the Eleaf Invoke which is rather nice and smaller than a lot of my two battery mods.

Just generally, I like Teslacigs, they have a wide variety of styles and options and the board is pretty sweet for a non DNA mod, and also, they do TC pretty well.

A DNA mod is always great, but you'd have to check specials. Etc.

General makers I like: Teslacigs, Innoken, (I have a proton and I like it too) Smoant, and oh there are heaps of others. Try to gather as much info as you can (while still not missing sales, etc.)

Good luck!

Anna

Be aware that technically the safe wattage on a dual battery mod is 150W, so a single battery mod is out, going on your requirements because 75w is the safe top for a single battery mod...can you push the wattage beyond safe..yes, but well we like to make people aware of the absolute safety from word go....for anything north of 150W you may wish to consider a triple battery mod...

As you're looking at possibly running the Fireluke which uses ridonculously low ohmage coils...they also bring up another safety topic..batteries, apart from just selecting and buying the mod and coils, you'll need to make sure you buy suitable batteries ....

And on that topic, you should probably read and absorb from the fountains of knowledge here:

Mooch:
Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum

Also viewable info on his youtube channel, if you hate reading:

Battery Mooch

I would suggest watching this one in particular too, about marrying batteries if youre going to go dual/triple battery:

Baditude:
(9) Battery Basics for Mods; the Ultimate Battery Guide | E-Cigarette Forum

Hard to recommend anything in that price range other than the Aegis Legend, solid unit, and not too fugly like most mods these days...

If a high wattage triple battery mod is also a possibility, the cheapest is prolly the Wismec Reuxleaux RX GEN3, as much as i hate to put Wismec up as a suggestion. Me, id spend a little more and by a DNA 250/c triple battery mod, such as the Lost Vape Triade DNA250C USD$160'ish, far better quality than anything out there.

Whatever you do, dont buy a Smok mod.....just dont. Ive had several (most were returned or sold on) and they only ever made one good one (of which i have 3), and thats mostly my opinion even :)

Aegis Legend, 200w & durable. Quite a bit bigger than a D2, more like the IPV 4S so you may not like that.

Eciggity has a 20% off code today, I think it comes out to $48, I ended up getting a 2nd Legend. MVS has $5 off so their comes out to $51, I'm not sure if they have anything extra going on for the 4th.

You are looking at the right one, the single battery Aegis is 100w. It should be more durable than the Legend because of the single battery access vs the dual battery access.

I don't know about the durability for drops but Innokin Proton is more comparable to the D2 in size and feel for a 2 battery mod with power (235w). And for a 2 battery mod it's amazingly light. I have dropped it once and it still lives.

I think the Aegis Legend may fit my needs.

I agree that 150 is more than enough for my use case. I don't see myself needing a 3 batt mod and, honestly, I'm concerned about safety with anything that powerful. Two batteries is pushing me out of my comfort zone a bit. I've always used Samsung batteries, which are on the list, so I should be good to go.

Oh wow. The Legend is huge compared to my dinky little setup. I'll have to think about that a bit.

It's large. I've held heavier mods. It's also like, ergonomic I have small hands and I do fine. I got a tesla PUNK that was the heaviest mod I've ever held and quite frankly, I sold it almost immediately. It seemed designed in such a boxy way, it actually HURT to hold it. I sold it to a guy. LOL.

With that said, if you don't have a way to transport it (I tend to carry large purses, my newest one is more of a SATCHEL) then you may have issues if you want it for your ADV.

Good luck,

Anna

Battery life isn't a huge concern for me (so weird to type that). I don't vape much because I won't vape around my son. For me, it's pretty much to and from work and with a glass of wine after bedtime.

Smok M-80 Plus is about the same size as the Legend but feels much worse. Same with the IPV4. But I have big man hands and big pockets so I don't care.

GearBest USA: Original Think Vape EXUS ARK Mod - $50.31 Free Shipping

This is a nice mod, not too large or too heavy, feels nice in hand and vapes great. I’m not used to the menu yet, kind of tricky. Otherwise, very nice.

Uwell Ironfist 200W & Crown 3 Starter Kit | Vape Kits

I got this one mod only, again smaller hand friendly, not too heavy.

Also a big fan of the minikin v2. It’s heavy for the size, but seems really well made. Only con is that crazy touchscreen. The menu is easy once I can unlock it lol.

How do you feel about touch screens? I feel like they would get cracked easily.

I looked up the regular Ageis and found a 100w mod. Am I looking at the wrong thing?
Nope. That’s it. Uses a single 26650, which means even though it says 100w it’s more like 40-80w depending on the battery. If you want real life 200w you need a 3 battery mod and those are even bigger than the legend.

You’ve got that traditional problem where you want size, power, price, and ruggedness. 3 simply don’t exist together let alone all 4. The smallest fairly tough two battery mod I know of is the squid double barrel. There the fall down is price though. The things are a bit spendy.

The one one the minikin is small and sits flush. It’s no more break prone than other screens, in my experience. But I have a heck of a time getting it to cooperate. I have trouble with anything touchscreen, so it may just be me. I’ve seen people on YouTube get it to work okay. Plus side is, I don’t accidentally adjust it. Once I get it set, it stays there and works great.
