I have tried this tobacco flavor and really enjoy it but I do have a problem with it. I use a mini Nova tank and an Ego-C battery but as the tank starts to get low it seems to cook the juice. The carbon starts to build on the coil and before the tank is done it gets a real burnt taste. I have tried different resitance heads from 1.8 to 2.8 but that doesn't seem to make a difference. The juice is a little dark coming right out of the bottle at 2.4% but they don't publish the PG/VG mix for this. I really like this flavor but don't want to put up with the burnt taste. Any suggestion?

I have also tried Legend from Heather's Heavenly and eliquid tobacco flavors, niether of which compared to Midnight Express. I may just order a sample from Johnson creek (they only carry 1.8%) and Halo for a try.

I am having the same problem with my Volt x2 batteries and a Kanger t3 clearomizer. Or should I say 5 kangers that are so caked up that they are ruined! I tried to clean them properly. But it did not make any difference. They just don't work! I am so discouraged as I am a newby to vaping. Not having good luck so far. I do like the taste of the Midnight Express, but I can not continue to burn out clearomizers. The juice starts to burn shortly after I start vaping. My nicotine level was 1.8 %. Please someone help! I don't know what to try next. I will not go back to analogs!

Welcome to the ECF Frustrated Newby - I think your name says it all so let's see if we can get you back up and running.
So I need to ask, what device are you using the heads on? and what voltage? What are the ohms on the coil you are using?

While you get that info, let me describe the best way to clean your clearo / coil.
The best thing to do is to remove the head and soak it in alcohol. Something like vodka, everclear or something you have to hand. After it's soaked for a few hours, rinse in hot water - as hot as you can stand.
Then, the important bit - shake and blot dry and place the head back on your battery (no clearo around it, just the head) and pulse the battery. Maybe 3-4 seconds while gently blowing on the coil.
After you do this for a little while, you should see the coil glowing (look down the center post) The coil should glow red and evenly across the whole coil.
Then rinse it in hot water again - as hot as you can stand and make sure you rinse it well.
Shake it off and blot it dry again, then replace all the bits and fill your T3 with juice and try again.

If this doesn't work, and you still find the flavor off, you just have to get a new coil. Understand that while the T3 is not disposable, the heads in it do need some love and care to work correctly and do have some consumable parts.

There may be a simple fix here. Do you tip and roll the mini vivi when the juice gets low? By that i mean hold it sideways and roll it a round a few times. That will keep the wicks wet. And also - if it getslow toppingup keeps the wiocks wet too.

If that doesn't work you may need to do a clean and dryburn. Here's a video on that - its on the large vivi nova but same principle:

I clean and dryburn my vivi nova heads all the time - they last me well and a clean vivi nova is a joy to vape.
The second half of the video is about rebuilding them - don't worry about that right now.

I am having the same problem with my Volt x2 batteries and a Kanger t3 clearomizer.

Here's a vidoe on cleaning your kind of clearomizers:

They will need a regular clean if you want to keep them going. I have Volt X2 batteries and they shouldn't be burning your juice or hjeads. They are regulated at 3.6 -3.7 volts. I think you need to clean the T3 for a fresh tasting vape. Or buy replacement heads - they are meant to be replaced but a lot of vapers clean them and keep them going.
I suggest you try giving one a clean - you have nothing to lose and may be able to revive it.

I have soaked the t3s in alcohol, then hot water. Let them dry over night in front of a small fan, after dabbing dry. I have tried everything I have read or watched on YouTube. I only have the Volt batteries in automatic. So I can not dry burn the coil. The coils are I believe 1.8 ohm. Not sure. Bought them from Smokers Image along with my x2 batteries, which I love! I have a 650 and a 1300 battery. Both automatic. The e juice just seems to be the problem. I researched it ,and I am not the only one that is having the burnt wicks and black build up inside my clearomzer. None of the 5 heads I used were reusable! They are really black!

Some juice is really hard on coils. I've found coffee flavors often can be. I guess you could buy another manual batt so you can dryburn - or else just replace the heads. The thing about dryburning is it does get the stubborn crud off the coils. The ones you have may be past reviving now though, depending on how gunked up they are. You need to clean and dryburn before that point. With a gunky juice I do it after a tankful - that's a 3.5 ml tank - so for a smaller clearo maybe after two tanks full.

What you're looking at is carbon buildup. Some juices are really prone to this, especially darker colored ones. Once the coil is covered in it, it gets insulated and the only way to clean it up is to take a brush to the coil and at that point you're better off just replacing the coil.

You may have better luck using an RBA with those juices rather than a tank.

What is a rba?

RBA stands for Rebuildable Atomizer. And it is for experienced vapers. Its not something to you would use with Volt X2 batteries.
It means making your own wicks and coils, and it is fiddly and some people find it a very steep learning curve. You need supplies, you need a multimeter, you need patience, and you need a pv that can handle the RBA.

Great video! I learned more from it! But the sad thing is, I have automatic batteries!

You can still dry burn with the automatics.... You just have to stand in front of a mirror and put the opposite end of the ecig in your mouth and then gently blow air through the body to activate the mechanism.

You watch the progress of dry burning as a reflection.

Looks like I may have to get a manual. But I know nothing about the settings on those. LOL! I would probably fry the clearomizer! LOL! I spent 2 weeks reading and watching videos to decide what batteries to get. And I am still confused about juice delivery systems.

I have manual Volt X2s. They are exactly the same setting as the automatics. All the button does is fire it when you take a vape.
The Volt Spinners are the ones that have variable voltage.
If you pick up a manual - you could get a manual X2 which is at 3.6 -3.7 volts like your automatic X2. Or you could try a Spinner - set it to 3.7 volts and then try going up or down a little. The trick with variable voltage is to not crank it right up and burn everything.

If you're happy with X2 vaping just go for a manual X2. I vaped manual X2s for quite a while before I got into more advanced stuff. I still enjoy using the X2s sometimes.
