Safira, The V.A. already gave him a walker with a seat..they are all the rage at the V.A.! LOL I evengot him a U.S.A.F. retired hat with the medals from tours in Vietnam on it. Now he fits right in. He doesn't really need the walker or a chair in the house..it's small with walls to aide him when getting around. It's outside or in a big place like a supermarket or V.A. that defeat him. He is really hating this! Also getting from the car to the pier hurts..I want him to be active and to keep as much independence as possible. Hopefully after the rdiation is done he will feel better (If it ever gets started!) We were warned the hormones would slow him down..but good grief!
My diabetes is back to near normal. My numbers are dropping fast. My meds are still ajusting and making me sleepy and a bit queasy. The Dr. does think the head wound is adding to the problem though there is no concussion. I see her again on friday.
We are getting there!

Did you turn the hot water back on for your showers? (Yikes is right)

Yeah....LOL He would turn it back on as soon as they came out of the bathroom. The worst one was my step-son he would stay in there until every drop of hot water was gone!!! With 5 people and one bathroom we had to do something...LOL

This is my teenage son. I swear, what the heck is he doing in there? (wait, don't answer I have a feeling I don't want to know.) We have a larger tank too, so it get's expensive. I may have to talk to DH about this. But then I'm afraid he just take a bath instead.

Definitley do not want to know  We only had to do this during the school year. It was so hard on our tank since we have hard water we have all that lime build up in the bottom.

Thank you most kindly Kelly! All Prayers and good thoughts welcome! It is wonderful to see you!

Update..Mike's Regular Dr. is being a pain. She wants studies done before recomending an electric chair for Mike.
I understand they aren't candy..but surely she could at least hurry things along! She wants him to go in for hip pain studies...rolling my eyes!
I saw my Dr. last friday, all is well, my blood sugar numbers are dropping but my tryclycerides ar around 1,900. That is going to take a lot management.
She had me do a chest xray..just normal stuff. But while my heart and lungs look good..they did find a scar at the bottom of my lung. ??? She said it was proably from the 2 bouts of brocchitis I had some years back. They also found damage to my rotator cuff in my shoulder..due to calcification. again??? it's my left shoulder that hurts...LOL I asked if they had my x ray backwards...lol
I need to go have my bone density scan done, I don't know why it's always good and it's been less then a year since i had one done. Anyway I told her it was just silly, if I didn't break anything in that fall..it stands to reason my scan would be good...she laughed and agreed, but needs a baseline to work with.
last but not least..my vitamin D is low.I do get outside everyday while there is light to water my plants or walk and I take a pretty high supplement..still she upped the dose. She said that she belonged to a study on long life and aging and they are finding great stuff about vitamin D and diabetes as a side study.

I just got the most awesomest gift from my PIF family. Its a get well, take me to the hospital to make you feel better,we are here for you,Super Mini GLV2.Its so small and beautiful and I love it so much and I do feel better tonight.I am very happy and I feel like they care about me,lol. What a wonderful group of people.I am always amazed at the kindness of ECF friends.I cant imagine going through the last few months without the support Ive gotten here. There have been times when I was petrified for Jeff or tired to the point I couldn't function and now nervous for myself and I have had you guys to turn for help and support.Just having you all to talk to has made things so much easier.I would have been a basket case without you ladies.I feel like I should be the one giving back, instead I got a gift. Can you imagine my surprise?Well now I have even more to be thankful for.I am extremely thankful today.

I just found this thread and all I can say is "Holy Crap". You ladies have been going through hell and I didn't even know it. I knew MK had a lot on her plate from some things I picked up on other threads but I had no idea how much was on her plate. I take all the nice and supportive things that everybody else has already said and throw it back to all of you. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see how everything turns out. As so many are fond of saying (((((hugs))))).

Thanks for keeping us up to date MK and Keyzy.

Glad to hear that your blood sugar is leveling out MK. Hope the triglycerides and Vitamin D numbers go in the right directions next. Not sure why the doc can't use your previous bone density scan as a baseline- but what do i know.

Keyz I'm glad you're getting the support and have a nifty PV to take with you for your surgery :)
