Im having a little trouble with resting and laying down.My head is very sore and has alot of stitches and tape stuff on one side.My whole head hurts.Its hard to lay on it,lol.If I sit up for a bit my neck hurts like crazy because they had to go down in there too.Sitting up is still making me dizzy.Am I whining enough yet?Hopefully a few more days and the swelling will go down and stop pulling the stitches so tight.Im taking percocet and it helps but when it doesn't hurt I fall asleep and lay on it and wake up ready to crawl out of my skin in pain.Im just whining and complaining because you guys listen.Hubs just keeps saying "Your fine,you look good."Then I say "Im not fine and I look like a swollen mess,lol!!"
Something nice happened though,I was only eating cream of wheat and mashed potatoes for the past few days and my very nice neighbor brought me a bowl of pea soup.Im not a huge fan of pea soup,but it was so good.My taste buds arent working much or my sense of smell and it was just wonderful to eat that soup.It was kind of peppery and yummy.I really enjoyed it.So thats my day.I just thought Id tell you all about it,lol!

Boy and I thought I had problems with the stiches on my temple! I dall asleep and sometime in the night I roll over on my left side..within minutes my head starts throbing from the pressue on that side. I am not gonna whine anout it anymore after reading how your nite's sleep is going!
What about a one of those roll pillows to place on your shoulder to cushion your head?

It doesn't sound like whining to me- it sounds like it's pretty darned uncomfortable. I'm glad you're taking the time to post and let us know how you're doing.

I feel a bit better today.I slept for like 4hrs.I piled pillows up to keep me upright and put them under my arms beside me and it worked really good,lol.Im sitting here having a coffee and I really do feel a little better!!I think its going to be a good day,lol.Sorry for getting whiny yesterday.I was just so frustrated and tired of being in pain.I think today will be much better.Hows everyone else doing today?

I have to admit to being a bit stupid,lol.I got pizza for the kids for dinner and it looked so good and the painkillers had me feeling pretty good,so I tried to eat a few bites cuz I couldnt resist.I woke up today and OMG the muscles and bones in my jaw are killing me.Its my own fault.Why couldnt I just resist,lol.I think pizza is my weakness.Im taking it slow and having yogurt today,lol.

awww..(hugs)... it is so tough ! Back when I did ortho (as an auxillary)...my primaries were the patients that had the orthognathic surgeries (jaws split and relocated). They would have their jaws/teeth wired in place for 6-8 weeks. Eating is tough !

blenders are a good invention......and don't forget about the baby food isle......

can you put pizza in the blender? or do they make pizza yogurt? glad you're taking it slow today. When do you go home?

Ive been home a few days now.Hubs made broccoli with dinner for the kids and he over cooked some for me and it was really good.Very soft and tasty,lol!

Just a little update.The first week was a painful deal.Lots of meds.I started feeling better on Saturday and even had hubs drop me off on Sunday morning for and hour to have coffee with friends.It wore me out but I needed to get out and breath some air,lol.We sat outside and it was fun.When I got up on Monday,I felt a little groggy and dizzy but didnt think much about it.Last night when I went to bed I felt like I had fluid behind my new eardrum and this morning it seems to be worse.I go to the doctors on Friday in Miami so Im sure everything will be fine.I just feel a little nervous and I want this infection gone and for this whole mess to be over.Please just say a little prayer that Im healing and getting better.I just cant bear to think this surgery didnt get the infection out and OMG if they have to cut into my head again I dont think I have the strength to deal with it.Im using antibiotic ear-drops so pray it works.My poor head cant take much more,LOL!!Im hoping its healing.

have you called the Doc yet? I know you go up in a couple of days- but call now. please. Don't wonder and worry for three days.

Glad you got out Keyzy, but sorry you're bumming now. I know "one day at a time" really drags by when you're in pain. I'm so sorry for you, dearheart.
