Thanks ladies! She seems in better spirits today. :)

Even though they have faxed him now accepting liability...is it ugly that the attorney has been told to still go after their juggler?? They called our bluff and waited needlessly letting her suffer until we felt forced to retain him for her, now they can deal with their senseless delay. Our period of being ...what's the words...patient and friendly...is gone...that window closed. I want blood (so to speak) for every day that they have made her endure pain and delayed her healing. I want blood for everyday that my grandsons don't have their Mommy as her normal playing with them self. Is that being ugly?? Once my claws are out, it's very hard to get me to retract them.

Keyzy...how was your first night bandage free?? Hoping you got some peaceful sleep and are feeling rested. :)

She is your child!!!!! DO IT!!!!!!!!

We're doing it...for her. "We" won't get a thing...it's all for her and the boys. She's been overwhelmed with so many emotions and fears of loosing everything she has that she has been literally sick (nauseated etc) with worry. It's just her to support her 3 boys...she's very independent and strong but this knocked her for a loop to say the least. I'm sure she will overcome it all once she has the needed surgery and gets some relief from pain. Having a busted up foot, she said "isn't it funny how we take walking for granted". Said she never thought about it...til now...how much being able to walk determines how well she can care for the boys everyday. Right now she just has a splint on it...every move sends excruciating pain through her. Just going to the restroom leaves her exhausted cause it takes a while for the pain to ease up again. :(

But hopefully Monday they will get her in surgery & fix it and then cast it. That's what we're praying for right now. The initial CT Scans showed that the bone in the top of her foot is crushed, the inner ankle is broken and has a shard of bone IN the ankle joint, and another bone broken...I forgot exact details on the 3rd break. All in her right foot. Her leg almost up to her knee is black and blue. Several times a day we check her toes to make sure they are still warm and getting blood flow. So far so good!! She has hit her foot more times...ya know the old saying...sticks out like a sore thumb bumping it on everything. That's her. Poor girl cringes every time she has to go pee. Grace never was her middle name. LOL. She laughs at herself to keep from crying. Kinda a raving mad laugh...not what I'd call a haha that's funny laugh.

At any rate...I won't keep boring you ladies with all of this...I will update after she has the surgery (I'm guessing surgery etc will even still be an option after having waited this long. Afraid the bones may have started to heal the wrong way on their own.). Thanks SO much for the well wishes and thoughts for her. I truly appreciate it! Your all the best!! :)

Kay, I get angry on your daughter's behalf. I can't even imagine how you and she feel. I'm so glad that you've gotten to the first step. Unless you continue to stand up for yourselves, and go for the jugular, the company will continue to do this sort of BS, and might even try it with the next stage of treatment. It's unacceptable to leave someone in pain the way they've been doing. Please keep us updated! I know i want to read how everything comes out.

Keyzey, how're you feeling? has the dizziness started to subside at all?

and you MK, how are you doing and how is Mike?

Just be aware $30,000 doesn't go far when surgery is required. Its very expensive and everyone bills separately after the hospital bills you.Every person that touches her will send a separate bill.It adds up very quickly.Be very careful before you agree to a set amount. The medical bills for me and my husband would shock you.

Yes, Kay, I think you should unleash the barracuda lawyer on them. Your DD will need every cent she can get for the medical bills, not to mention for the lost wages in time off work.

It's really unfortunate that ppl have to feel badly about being so aggressive in getting compensation for what is lost, but that's what it takes. Feel at peace about the way you feel about this, and hopefully the lawyer will have good news to relieve your daughter's stress and anxiety. According to the government Center for Disease Control, 91% of all degenerative disease is stress-related. Other health gurus believe the percentage is even higher than that - something around 98%, so she'll deserve at least everything she can get out of this.

I am awake! Get up and keep me company! My nights and days got all turned around. I got up early (for me) to go see Classy, so I thought I could finally go to bed at a decent hour (midnight..again early for me) WEll that backfired! My brain thought a 3 hour nap was nice..now I am awake!
My Dr, cut my estrogen down to half a mg from 1 mg. Big deal right? well apparently so, I can't sleep. It's a side effect of low estrogen. If i get night sweats..I am gonna raise cain!

Speaking of which guess who woke up with night sweats? MIKE! I guess the hormone treatments he is getting are starting to kick in. I do feel bad for him, but now he see's what I went thru when I was off hormones! (I noticed the AC hasn't been turned up lately)
Today Mike goes for the tatoo, cast and we think his first radiation treatment. I will report later..he doesn't want me to go because he has another appointment after the radiation clinic. It's a P.T. one for his back.

Sending restful thoughts your way MK!

Kay, tell that lawyer to go for everything he can get. Your poor daughter is going to have a long row to hoe even after the surgery (hubby is an old Ortho tech so I've heard alot) and she deserves every penny.

May I ad to the list ladies? Hubby (also Jeff) was just recently diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia, which is part of the reason I've been MIA recently. It's got a good chance of remission with the new generation of drugs, but he's had to quit his job between the symptoms and numerous doctors' appointments. I can't work due to the double threat thyroid disorders so things are going to get a little tight. Granted, we've got his military retirement and VA disability checks, so we won't be destitute, but we could use some prayers and positive vibes if anyone cares to. :)
