The Doctor I saw before the Nuerologist that found this huge infection in my head was an idiot.I explained that I had high fevers and extreme pain in my head and neck and that I was loosing my hearing and I felt like it was going to kill me if they didnt figure it out.He said "YOUR JUST GOING THROUGH MENOPAUSE!!"Live with it,It will pass!"

I almost punched him in the nose!!!!I was so angry.Thank God I found another doctor.He could have killed me if I listened to him.MEN!!

I went through the same comments before they found the MS with me !...It's your hormones honey......patting your shoulder....took 6 months to get him to take blood to find out the hormones were fine !

Mary Kay, usually the temperature of the feet make an impact on what a person feels. When I worked in the metro, all of us put our fans on the floor at our feet to stay cool. Maybe him going barefoot with his feet being cooled somehow?

One time when I had a pulled muscle in my neck I went to the dollar store and got some bags of frozen corn to put on my neck b/c of the tiny kernels being able to break up and mold around the contour of my neck. I kept re-freezing them - just threw them out when I was thru w/them - a cheap way to do it.

I am getting much better.I still have some swelling inside thats giving me bouts of the dizzies but they are getting further apart,so thats good!!

Keyzy, so did you call or go back to dufus Dr. to tell him what was wrong? You know if I were a Female Dr. I would be tempted to tell some guys it was just MENopause!

Yeah cool feet are nice, but that won't work with Mike, he has no feeling in his feet. Plus when his feet and legs get too chilled he gets severe leg cramps.
Gor now he uses the cool cloth like a sports cloth..he like wiping his face and neck with it.

Mary Kay...please know you and Mike are in my thoughts and prayers. It's nuts that he can't get a good nights rest as that alone must wear him out. They make those neck scarves you can freeze and wear around your neck when it's really hot out..not sure where to get one, maybe Walmart or a local golf shop. I see a lot of people use them on the golf course. You just refreeze and keep using them. I also agree with the frozen veggies...inexpensive way to go.

We are headed out this week to find them..I saw the site where you make them but my sewing maching is in storage..I am NOT digging thru the table saw table routers and whatever to get it it! LOL We are also looking for some thin plywood to paint so we can block the east windows in the bedroom. That should cool the bedroom down a bit.
Mike loves his laptop and bed table..he has found he likes surfing the fishing places and the golf stuff. Hopefully he has given up on a kayak!

How about black out drapes?They block out the sun so it stays darker.I imagine that would cool it down some.

insulated black out drapes. not all are thickly insulated. I found that out remodeling our house and lots of windows that get full afternoon hot sun.

We have curtains we like already. So putting the thin plywood in is a good choice for us. Painted it will look like a white shade from the outside and inside it won't be seen at all. I can't believe how much cooler putting the book shelves against the east facing bank of windows in the Florida room made it! I have only one window on the west side..but I am thinking about doing something like that on that side. When Mom lived here, even with drapes the Florida room was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

DH put up shade screen on all of our west facing windows.....it sure make a difference!
