Mini Istick 20W heating issues????

hey guy so I am new to the whole vape world but I am using carts these days and use the batteries persay.

I am at 3.3V and can literally take a 2 second puff and I notice red from the heat being produced. I am wondering what I need to do I have searched every where
Tasting burnt and clearing I am aware I see hear under the cart

It's bad to say I want my el cheapo no readout back at this point

Found this thread..i-stick 20 best setting ?
Basically the 20w doesn't buck (step down) the voltage. So even set at 3.3 its running at whatever voltage the battery has (4.2 to start and then lower the more its used) until it gets to what you've set it to and then it would keep output to what has been set. Quick example would be setting it to 4.0 volts and it would fire at 4.2 until the battery charge was at 4.0 and then boost the remaining battery charge to maintain 4.0 until it reached low battery cutoff. So that is why after 2.5 seconds the coil is already red/hot and any longer of a puff it will taste burned????


Seems to do better when battery is 40-70%

Yep, when the battery runs down its output is closer to the low voltage that you've set so it won't heat the coil up as fast. If the coil is getting red hot its already burning liquid and filler material if you're using a cartomizer.
