I love my mini protanks, but owning three I have noticed that there does seem to be an issue with QC when it comes to the air flow. Two of the three that I have are perfect for my tastes, but the third is so airy as to be unusable. This seems to come down to the ego base itself.

I was in a sorting and cleaning mood tonight, which included dumping the dregs of some flavor samples I hadn't liked. So in order to do a thorough cleaning of the mini protank I've been using for my favorite flavor, I cleaned out one of the others and filled it with my favorite juice. Poor vapor and flavor. So I started experimenting with the parts, swapping the coils, bases, tops, etc. to track down the problem.

The result of the experiments is that one of the three bases is definitely letting way too much air in. I am hoping to fix this by blocking one or two of the air holes after everything is clean and dry, but it sure looks like this could be part of the reason that some people love them and some people hate them.

Interestingly enough, of the three bases I was working with, my favorite is one that I had assumed when I got it was a factory second or reject since the metal is a darker color and doesn't match the mini protank that it came with.

Same here, my PT2 mini's both have the brownish colored base that does not match the rest of the tank. As was said above, it probably was done on purpose so that you would know where the base is.

When I first started vaping I thought the PT2 mini was too airy as well. Now that I have been at it a few months it feels just about right (if not on the tight side). Coming off analogs does that to you.
