Over the last few weeks I have been getting away from smoking analogues. Although never a heavy smoker (4-5 a day at most) I still felt the urge to smoke even if it was just a few. I finally figured out that it wasn't so much the nicotine that I missed but the physical habit of having a cigarette. HappyVaper's no-nicotine products were exactly what I was looking for. On Saturday I took a trip down to Dr. Flea's for two main reasons: to meet Jack at the Happy Vaper both to give the 010 a try and secondly, to take my mom's car for a good carbon-clearing highway trip as she is out of town and does not take it on the highway. :p

When I arrived at the flea market I went to see Jack with the intention of trying an e-cig out. The booth was a bit hard to find as it was closer to the food court at the back. As I expected there were samples available and plastic mouthpieces to keep things sanitary (very good idea). At first, I was kind of apprehensive as to how to properly drag on one as they are not nearly as responsive as a regular cigarette. After a few pointers I got the hang of it. Easy as pie (is there a pumpkin pie flavor? lol) I finally settled on the 010 in menthol flavor. I figured I'd try it as I wanted a bit of a throat hit although, I have never been a menthol smoker. The basic pack includes 1 manual battery, 1 atomizer, 1 blank mouthpiece, and 2 pre-filled cartridges in either menthol, tobacco, or RY4 flavors.

My impression of the unit itself has been very good. I immediately started using it as soon as I took it off the shelf and it has fulfilled my expectations. The quality of the product seems quite good for something that was only $12 and the vapor production was adequate. Tactile feel is nice with a good weight (it doesn't feel cheap) while slightly longer than a 120mm analogue. I am amazed at the realness of smoking it as I really wanted something that would closely mimic the inhale/exhale motions of smoking. Being able to use it in the car without smelling up the interior was really cool as well. If you saw how I take care of my car, you'd understand the lengths I go to keep it immaculate inside and out. The whole way home I smoked the e-cig in the car (a family member's) and when I got out there was absolutely no smell. I have so far used it in my car and in the house with absolutely no trace of odor left behind. Fast forwarding to last night, the battery finally died while I was finishing off the first of two cartridges that came with the 010. After smoking it for 3 days I can say that the flavor (menthol) was not quite what I would expect in a menthol. Even on the first few drags I wasn't getting the flavor. There was no throat hit and a very faint if any mint feel or flavor. Every inhale I could only taste something along the lines of honey. Nothing was burning or dry yet so I'm not sure what was going on. I guess the flavorings they package with the pre-filled cartridges are not the best of quality. What I can say for sure is that I have no craving to smoke a real cigarette and even without the working e-cig I feel fine.

I have ordered a sampler pack of juices and a charger in order to continue using the 010. Once I've had it for a few more days I'll update the review with some more feedback.

Keep vaping,
TheFlyinJ

Congrats on the switch. You won't get much throat hit (if any) from any of the juices that Jack has because there is no nic in it. The menthol would be your best bet because the mint kind of acts for a throat hit.

Next time you go to the flea market, if you come in off of Hwy 27 park right at the front, door 'N' is right by Jack, so you don't have to wonder around :p

Keep us posted on how it goes though!

Hi FlyinJ!
huggy.gif
Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping.

I definitely agree with you in that vaping totally satisfies the hand-to-mouth habit like nothing else can (save smoking, which we don't want!)

And yes...it's clean, doesn't leave a smell, and all around amazing! Really pleased to hear your experience so far has been so stellar. Congratulations!
