This is my first post here on the Halo section. I just received a couple of Triton tanks and a couple of G6 minis to try on my Smokeless Image batteries. I must say, I'm impressed. If they continue to perform, I plan to order many more.

So here's my question. I would like to use a cone to cover or help protect the mini when used on the larger batts. The cones I have currently will not fit over the mini tanks...the hole on the narrow end is just too small to fit over the tank. Do the cones from Halo fit over the mini tanks? Yeah, I know that kind of defeats the purpose of the clear tank...but I have my reasons.

Hi,

The cones should fit over the mini tanks. I've noticed it works best when you put the cone on first and then the tank but it sounds like for some people it take a bit of finagling and some of the cones are kind of stubborn but it can be done!... Triton.jpg

Yeah, I got mine on that way...but it was so tight that I don't dare try it again. Kind of like trying on a ring that you can't get off again. Maybe one day I'll get motivated with a dremel tool.

I have several cones and some small tanks I would love to put a cone on for protection in my pocket :) I know several scissor sharpener people who I think next one I see I will ask if they can grind the small end down a little so the opening is wider. Don't know if it will work but worth a try!

The cones don't fit with out a little modification. I used a dremel and just filed the top off the cone and they fit great now. I like using the cones because I think it looks nicer and it does add a little protection to my tanks. The G6 tanks are the absolutely best tanks I have ever used, easy to clean and they work forever.

Thanks...I kind of figured that was the route to take...dremel it is. Was gonna try duct tape...that will fix anything.

OK, I used a round file to gently file the inside of the cone top out a bit and it worksed fine. Now I can use the cone with the mini tanks well, and it did not at all disfigure the cone appearance. Well worth doing.

Excellent. I was having the same issue, fit to snug for a good flow. Off to find a file.

Edit: Success!
