I am having a problem with replacement heads for my Mini Vivi Nova, which I think is an authentic Vision.

Having tried a few of them, most simply don't work (won't fire at all). I went in to my local e-cig store and the guy there was at a loss, but after much messing around trying to narrow down the problem, I have come to the conclusion that not all of the heads are compatible with my Mini Nova.

I have posted below a photo showing one that doesn't work, on the left, and one that does, on the right (they are now missing the wick and rubber head but they were attached when I tried them) . The one on the left is flat at the bottom, meaning, I suspect, it is not making contact with the battery, while the one on the right has a slightly longer rounded bottom and fires succesfully when connected to my Mini Vivi Nova.

So my question is:

(1) Is it *supposed* to be the case that the one on the left doesn't work with my device? (I bought one of these online and one from the store and in both cases they were described as working with the Mini)

(2) Is there something I can do to fix my Mini Nova so the head on the left does work?

Thanks!

Thanks, that is super helpful.

FWIW I'm still a bit confused, as my Mini Nova looks like the genuine one and not like a Smoktech. The only funny thing about my one is the printed scale goes up to 2.5ml, not 2ml. Perhaps I have some other weird knock off. The Smoktech heads certainly seem to be the ones I need due to the rounded bump on the base.

All of my heads look like the one on the left.

I have a couple Vision vivi novas that I bought in June. Yesterday I received the new glass 2ml V-Fate novas and extra heads. I have heads from three different venders so I am reasonably sure that they genuine Visions. All of these heads are the same.

You may also try removing the tube and making sure that all of the internal threads are screw down tight. I have had problems with loose internal threads.

So, this is how it turned out:

(1) I ordered a Smoktech head, and they sent me a flat base one like the one on the left. Didn't work. I emailed the store and the guy told me they are somtimes supplied flat ones, sometimes with the bump, both supposedly Smoktech compatible.

(2) The guy kindly agreed to send me a REDUX head as a replacement, which has the bump, and apparently works with Smoktech Mini Novas. Still didn't work, for some reason. I've no idea why my previous atomiser head that look very similar DOES still work with my Mini Nova tank.

(3) I gave up and ordered a new cheap, knock off Mini Nova from Ebay as a replacement. Very dissapointing vapour, gave up on it straight away.

(4) Finally, I ordered an official Vision Mini Nova (labelled as the 2013 model). It works OK-ish, but the vapour is a LOT less rich/warm/flavourful than my older (possibly knock off) Mini Nova. Only a slight improvement on the crappy CE4s I originally used and very annoying after I spent the money for a Vision! So on a slightly different topic, is it normal for the proper Vision ones to not actually be that good? Will it improve with time?

I received some new Vision 2.7ohm vivi nova heads monday. I asked for 2.4, 2.7 and up is what I got. What I found is that the voltage on my Provari at 3.4 volts, it's lowest setting, does not go low enough to give me the vape I am accustomed to with my old heads. Lots of vapor, even more than I was getting on the old heads at 2.4ohms and 4.0 volts. Not bad on my Twist at 2.3 volts but that's not the PV I like to use at home. Never encountered a problem like this before.

What are the oms on your heads and how many volts are you vaping at? How many wicks do yours have? Mine have 4, my old 2.4 ohm heads ones had two.

So far I don't like these new ones at all. Tomorrow if I get a chance I am going to take a pair of each and take them apart side by side. Right now it looks like I am have to start recoiling.

I checked my coils and they all have the flat contacts, and they have to be real Vision heads, I bought them before the Smok and other clones were even on the market.

I've been re-building them since I started with the Vivi and aim for a 2.5 - 3.0 ohm coil with 4 wraps of 34 ga kanthral on silica or ekowool. My heads usually last a month or two (using clear DIY juice no sweetner)

Step by step with pictures....Rebuilding a Vivi Nova | VAPE News Magazine and I trim my wicks short like the last picture. The short wicks like the original Vision design work better than the "improved" long wicks in keeping the coil fed.

I just took apart a few of my old and one of and one of my new nova heads. The new had head has 36 gauge wire and the old one were using 32 gauge to 36 gauge. This was just looking at them by eye and comparing them with kanthal wire that I have for recoiling. The new ones all have four wicks and the old ones varied from one to four wicks.
The resistance on the new ones were all stamped at 2.4 and when I tested them they ranged from 2.6 to 3.4 ohms.

I have also noticed that on the bottom of my glass 2ml vivi novas are stamped with "2013 Vision-Fate".
The old ones had no stamp and were supposed to be Vision mini vivi novas.

Does anyone tell us if new plastic and metal ones are stamped.
