I quit smoking cold turkey when I started vaping back at the end of January this year and everything has been going great until May came around the corner. I love my MVP and Protanks, and I enjoy my juice and variety of nic strengths... but for some reason I'm finding myself craving the cigarette form factor big time. Once I started vaping, I didn't even miss cigs at all, until May rolled around. I tried compromising and bought a Blu cigaike hoping it would be a cheap way to try to satisfy the physical feel in my hands and mouth, but as we all know... they taste like junk and die quickly. I've thought about getting a refillable cigalike kit, but I'm not too keen on dropping $$ for downgrading gear to something I might only use for a day or a couple of weeks and then toss.

Anyone else gone through this before? What did you do?

I have not had this happen to me. If I hear of someone that is having a craving I always suggest keeping a higher nic juice around for emergencies so to speak. I don't have any regrets over not having something that feels like a cigarette in my hands. I am only content when I can blow something that reminds me of smoke I guess. I am sure you are not the only one that has had this particular feeling. I do wish you well and hope I read future posts about your successful vaping.

I have heard several people say the NJoy was a good gas station alternative. Just thought I'd throw that in. I've read really bad comments about the blu. :(

Buying a vape and tossing it out a couple weeks later is still cheaper than starting on cigs again. If you think it will help you stay away from cigs then it's priceless and whatever price the local vendor is asking is a steal.

This is exactly what happened to me. When I first started vaping, I had no problems with the transition, went weeks without smoking, one time even for a few months. I was not determined yet to completely stop smoking, I was vaping more as an experiment. But, I was doing very well. Then, I just wanted to smoke, and nothing I did took that urge away completely. Unfortunately, now I am back to smoking every day again, and vaping, but smoking much less than before I started vaping last year. Personally, I have done 2 things to try to resolve this: 1) I bought Dirty Neutral Base or DNB from Inawera and am going to make my own cigarette-like juice. This flavor is supposed to mimic a cigarette like nothing else out there. So, we'll see - I haven't tried it yet. 2) I also have a cigalike kit that I first started with.

Buying a vape and tossing it out a couple weeks later is still cheaper than starting on cigs again. If you think it will help you stay away from cigs then it's priceless and whatever price the local vendor is asking is a steal.

And that leads to this statement ^^^ That is so true. A cigalike kit isn't expensive and it may very well be the answer for you. I use it when I have cravings and it works about half the time. I particularly seem to like a coffee cartridge they have, and that works for me to a point.

I've seen other people suggest that you just bum a smoke from someone and try it. You might just show yourself how much you're glad you don't do that anymore. Then you'll never have to worry about missing it again. I don't think I could ever do that myself, only because as a secret smoker (though not a secret vaper!), I would really feel like I gave in and lost the battle. However, I could see where that might work for some people.

I'm going through the same thing even after being cig free for 9 months.

The triggers are...basically the nice weather and spending time outside. Patio weather! I miss having cigarettes while I have a beer on the patio. I miss lighting them up....so nice!

I just chain vape the heck outta whatever I've got. It passes quickly.

I said it once and I'll say it again-I love my vaping, but I will ALWAYS love cigarettes. Not going back, but cigarettes are my favorite. They were always there for me, during the good times and the bad. Always made me feel better!

I moved on to mods but yet I still use my Blu. I buy a new kit every year because I kill the batteries. I crave cigs for a few months a year and vape nothing but my Blu for that time. I found it is only a few cents per carto difference to buy them filled from Blu rather than empty ones. I just buy the menthol and vanilla and refill them with what I want. They are always a little dry anyways so I add to the a fresh carto. I have tried another brand of cartos from Jet cigs they have nice flavors but cost a bit more than Blu unless you have a coupon. They also come in a much higher mg than Blu rechargeables do.

Dont know if this might help but I had a similar issue I personally missed the act of opening a pack pulling one out and lighting it so I started dripping you only get about 5 to 10 puffs before you hafta reach for the bottle to refill which is a similar activity to getting one out and lighting it for me problem solved just dont drip when I drive or I hand it to my wife to refill it while id drive

If you need a cigalike I would suggest V2 also. When I started vapeing I felt like you do now. I wanted the feel of a ciggrette. So I used several diffrent cigalike brands, V2 was better than any other of those. But I have to add, they are over priced, and like all the other cigalikes lack quality. But if it helps you through a rough spot, it's much better still than smoking! Also I agree with thezoo, dripping helped me with this problem also, as I progressed. There's something about it that satisfies when you have a craving. Something to consider!

Yeah I miss them especially after coffee in the morning, or drinking beer. I miss them when fishing too, and I know for I fact I'm going to miss them when hunting in the fall. Something doesn't seem right about a cold morning over a beautiful pond, holed up in a duck blind next to a wet dog....smoking an ecig. I might get a joke or two from my buddies this year but in the end it's worth it for my health.

I have been missing that form factor for about a year now. I have yet to find anything on the market that will satisfy it. The best I have found is a Njoy King, but it still has those downsides.

+1 on the NJoy King. It's the closest to the real thing I've seen, and even feels like a real cig. As much as I vape, though, they are too expensive for me to use all the time.

Another option:

SD KeyRing Maxi

Best of luck MsAgro, I keep a few of these around myself. They are high quality & will last far longer than a "cigalike". Also available in a smaller version, 1/3 the size, but id recommend the Maxi.

Those automatic switches are very satisfying when the urge hits ;)
