So what made you decide to upgrade?

It was kind of weird actually. One day at work I decided to try an ecig (not real sure why), stopped at a smoke shop on the way home and grabbed a disposable. I actually liked it. That night (before I found this forum) my wife being excited I decided to try to quit again went out and grabbed a Blu starter kit. I liked it alright, but I started to hate the constant charging and messy refills of the cartos, I would smoke a few analogs in between charging. That defeated the purpose. Did some more research (this site helped and still does) and went with an eGo K kit. Love the kit and it has served me well since. The other day my wife said for Christmas I can upgrade to a mod if I want to, 1) because she is very excited that I don't stink anymore and I can play with our daughter without getting winded (2) we break even on the 28th :) So my next step is going to be a Vamo V3....

i went disposable to one of the many 510 starter kits and this site actually turned me into the world of higher end vaping. i heard the stories of longer battery life, better flavor and i was hooked. after research i wanted a provari but opted to go with an evic. i like my choice but still looking at a provari for later on down the road. no regrets yet and it has kept me smoke free!!!

Well I started out with cigalikes my local corner store carried. One day the owner gave me a blu disposable that thay started carrying and I was like this is way better. I got the blu kit from him and poof both batteries died in 3 days took the kit and the cartridges I had and he gave me a ego type (vgo t) loved it for 2 months. Then heard about a local B&M so stopped in and got a twist kit and a protank. 2 months later I went in to another B&M and they had a vamo v2 kit for 60 bucks I know I know I could have gotten it cheeper on ft but I refuse to order from them. Well its almost bern a month now and I want another something. Not sure what just something.

I upgraded to some 3.7v big-battery devices and mods for more battery-charge length since I was already using real 3.7 slim models (KR808D-1 manuals). I am fine with slightly warm vapor - I haven't been tempted to go VV or 5v. Since my goal with ecigs was to get of cigarettes and maintain or diminish my nicotine habit, powering up my vape isn't really compatible with that goal.

I was generally disappointed with small (14500 battery) 3.7v simple mods - for some reason they slightly less strong/warm than the manual KR808D-1 slim batteries (V4L & Volt) and 3.7v Riva 510 fat batteries. I have a few pretty wood mods that take bigger batteries but I like to carry something pocketable and I like to vape TWO ecigs with contrasting flavors. So I carry 2 slim manuals (with a backup battery for each and PCC for one), plus one fat battery (a 3.7 Riva 510 from Liberty Flights).

It seems like a lot of folks on this site may have started their e-smoking journeys with a cigalike model, and then decided to go for some more advanced (and BIGGER) equipment. If this is you, then what made you want to upgrade?
I started off with disposables, which were expensive and only lasted a few hours. Moved up to a Greensmoke cigalike kit and got tired of constantly swapping their short-lived batteries on and off the charger. The cartos were proprietary, expensive and didn't last long. They kept me away from the cigarettes, but I wanted a battery that would last all day and a juice system that didn't involve nasty dry hits and swapping expensive cartos every few hours.

I'm perfectly satisfied with my "electric toothbrush/light saber" setup now - the batteries and juice last all day long (and then some), require minimal hassle and give me a great, consistent vape.

list of reasons why i upgraded from a cigalike to a "ego clone" or "big boy" which is the halo triton, not so big but bigger then a cigalike

1. cost efficiency - 35$ for one battery, charger, and tank that holds 2.4ml PLUS a free bottle of 10ml juice with my order. AS COMPARED TO the 20$ kit with no carts, so no juice untill i pay another 20$ for 5 carts with .9ml. .9x5= 4.5ml for 20$ as compared to free 10ml and cheaper subsequent juice purchases - 15$ for 30ml

2. battery life - i dont puff too often, my cigalike lasted about 1.5 days before dying and being charged, witch took 3-4 hours. AS COMPARED TO 5 days on my triton and a 30min to 1 hour charge.

3. Juice levels - i went thru one cart a day with the cigalike, swaping every day, so the 20$ was used every 5 days. AS COMPARED TO one tank full in my triton lasts me about 2-2.5 days per fill. with the replacement juice being 15$ for 30ml. 30/2.4 = 12.5 refills for 15$ AS COMPARED TO the 20$ for 5 carts/fills

4. i could almost care less about size, as i usualy carry around pens in my pocket anyways, its about the size of a marks-a-lot marker, so its not that big of a difference, tho any bigger and i probably wouldnt carry it in public. i wouldnt want a lightsabre in my pocket either lolololol
