Forgive me if this isn't the appropriate section.

I have in my possession 3 dead 1300mah D-a-V's (V4L's equivalent to the Vision Spinner). The batteries on 2 are fried, but the boards and other pieces are intact for the most part. I think one battery is still good, but I'm loathe to use it because of the issues I've had with the other 2. In any event, I should be able to piece together from them one working cyber-stogie.

What I'm not certain of is whether or not the battery is even replaceable with a different type. All my searching (I tried for a while, days in fact in several sittings) yielded no definitive answers to my queries. Is there a more stable battery that will work with this setup?

Here's the one that comes inside:

All I've found out for sure is that its Chinese; its 1300mah; its a royal pain to solder things that small; and pressed together tubes and connectors are the Devil.

Is there a better quality (or even higher voltage) battery I could use instead? If need be I could drop the whole VV aspect and not shed tears. Any input, suggestions, or even jests are appreciated.

If you want to stay with that form factor then I would suggest a vision spinner. Still gotta deal with inconsistent Chinese hardware, but I did give one to a friend for Christmas and his is still going strong. I've had one sense before then and it still works, but I must admit that I haven't used it in months. I have gotten much cooler toys to play with sense then.

There is a size difference between the spinner and the twist. Can't say about the dav because I've never seen one in person. The twist 650mah is longer than the spinner 650. Anyway, they aren't exactly the same. From my experience the Spinner has been a consistent little workhorse. I have had a standard joytech ego battery die on me in a matter of days though.

I guess there's problems with some of the other hardware then. It couldn't be coincidence that I've had 2 die and a friend a 3rd, all within 60 days of purchase.

That settles it then, I'll just part them out. I've already found a flashlight that the connector from the 1300's will fit almost perfectly in...and maybe I can figure out how to get the VV dials to work on a mod as well.
