Yeah, over buying juices was my biggest mistake...I have 20 bottles of awful high nic stuff on hand for the zombie apocalypse. I can either vape it or well, does anyone know if nicotine is toxic to zombies?

If you like the flavors, try using them as a base and getting some DIY supplies and diluting them... you may have to add more flavor, but PG, VG, and flavorings are pretty cheap. When I calculated that I could make a serviceable DIY 30ml bottle of juice for about $3.00, it really made the $15.00 bottle of pre-mixed look like a luxury.

I tried a cig-a-like on a whim and after using it for a couple of days realized I could *almost* leave the Newports alone. I hit Google and tried to find cheaper refill carto's for it and discovered the world of vaping. I had no idea about the better devices or all the delivery systems for them! Once I began reading... my biggest mistake was being SO afraid that I'd invest money into "vape gear" and juice and then end up trying it and not being satisfied and going back to analogs that I did the "Common new vaper progression". You know what I mean... reading the n00b forums and replacing my cig-a-like with an eGo-C kit. Then, moving up to a twist/Vivi Nova, and finally onto a Mod. I spent a lot of money on the "lesser" devices thinking "Well, at least I didn't drop $100 on this if I don't use it in a week."

Well, in the end I *DID* drop over $100 on a higher end Mod/Batteries/Charger and I have to say I now know WHY people keep upgrading until they hit this level. This thing KICKS .... I really wish I had just bought my Sigelli ZMAX right after the cig-a-like. I use it with the Vivi Nova I got for my twist and recently added a Kanger Protank to my collection. I keep my twist for backup and PIF'd the cig-a-like and eGo-C's I started with. :)

Also, listen to the advice about juice. Don't chase your analog taste (You'll never replicate it anyway). One of the coolest things about vaping is the ability to have SO MANY different flavors! Also, don't "stock up" too much. I got some in smaller bottles, LOVED them, then ordered a BUNCH more and about 1/2 way through my second & BIGGER bottle, got sick of the flavor and found another I like.

Lastly, I agree with the nic content thing. For me anyway, I tend to vape a lot ALL DAY and sometimes have to stop when I don't want to because I feel the "too much nic" feeling. This is NOT smoking where you smoke a .... and walk away for an hour or whatever.... LOL

Happy Vaping!

Some amazing advice and so funny to see people made the same mistakes as my wife and I. We spent nearly 1000 bucks the first month of vaping on all sorts of stuff.......dont do that....
Mostly advise buying a couple of things here and there. Dont buys a million different things at once, odds are they do nearly the same thing just a different name, this stuff really isnt that complicated or different in function.
Absolutly try different juices, I, like many, chased the analog flavor and found that not only is there not a "analog" flavor but I much perfer the juice flavors. I really thought I would like bakery flavors so I bought a slew of them only to find that none of them did it for me. At any rate, just take it in moderation as you go along dont be afraid to try different things but dont buy the whole market all at once either :)

I made a real good one in the early days. I didn't understand the different connectors various things had. SO my first week thinking I could avoid those horrid ego-C tank thingys I ordered a box of VE clearomizers (I think that is what they were called). Upshot was they had to be syringe filled (less leaky than my Ego tanks but a pain to do) AND did not in any way fit on my ego battery.

By shear dumb luck I discovered the darn things fit on a gas station cigalike battery I had lying around. Only I could goof like that and have it work anyways. SO that is what I am using them on at least until that stupid battery dies permanently. I did pick up an adapter so they will go on my ego's now. In a funny way I like them, Absolutely never EVER leak.

I understand that one 1000%. But, it made me go into overdrive mode and make a ton of really idiotic mistakes in very short order. And learn too a lot too. But I still have TONS to learn. There are some completely amazing people around ECF. Ask around. I have not even done that enough _myself_. So, that is another mistake I've that you should make a point of avoiding. Be visible. There are loads of extremely knowledgable people here. Those in this world who would like to convince you that vaping is not a useful means of reducing your dependence on nicotine very much have a vested interest in getting you to believe them. I think many here know what I'm saying. Just look at my own experience... I'm 50, started smoking at 21, started wishing I could get rid of it at 26, struggled ineffectively with that trying patches, then gum, then lozenges and getting nowhere (actually all those made things worse for me), until Jan. 13, 2013 found a vape + equipment I could live with, and threw something like $80 worth of Camels down the toilet, and just have not looked back. I started at 36mg/ml and in just that short time I'm down to 21mg/ml. Still strong, but a long way from where I was. AND none of it is smoke. When I was a smoker I do remember for certain just a few years ago smoking 7 packs of Camel Regulars in _48 hours_ one weekend.

What I have achieved in just 2.5 months of vaping is so far beyond anything even remotely possible with any other method I've ever tried I just plain don't give a crap if it costs a bit more for a while.

Ok, I think I'm done for now, and I think it might be good for me to stick around new-members-forum for a while.

Excellent post!!
