So I'm going out tonight to applebees and I don't know if I want to vape inside the restaurant while I have drinks and appetizer with friends and stuff or if I should walk outside and vape outside. I'm in FL so I don't know I mean I know I could because is not considered smoking, but I want to know people opinions. What do you guys think? Should I or not?

I like your idea JustaGuy so I think that is a good idea, but why all the hassle Ill just walk outside and vape outside when I feel the urge. Thanks for all the ideas and replies I think I have made my deisicion and walk outside and take a vaping break lol

It's not my idea and that and holding the vapor in IS "stealth vaping". That's what I said, I wouldn't bother, just go outside. Have a good time!

Best advice is to ask if it's ok , first . If not , then go outside , or learn to stealth vape . I use a 50/50 mix of PG / VG and still can vape , with no vapor . Take a toot , inhale , then inhale a second time . Now hold it in for 5 to 10 seconds . Then exhale . There should be little , or no vapor . A lot of restaurants , really don't have a problem with vaping , per se . They just don't want to deal with the regular smokers , that your able to vape . So for the owner/management , find it's easier to just say no , to everything , and everybody . And hey , it's their business . JMHO

I always ask even if I don't plan to vape during my outing. I like to know regardless and it Will affect my decision of where to go on other occasions. I didn't frequent non-smoking restaurants that did so from choice years before the bans and won't frequent places that choose to not allow vaping now. Especially when they make comments that others may think it is ok to smoke if they see my "smoke". The "it looks like smoke" mentality is nonsense. Magic could be said to "look like" witchcraft, taking prescription meds could be said to look like taking other drugs. It gives me an opportunity to demonstrate/educate if they are unfamiliar as well. I won't go outside with smokers to vape though. I quit smoking and don't want to breathe in the second hand smoke. If I can't wait till I leave I will stealth in the restroom or at my table if it is not crowded and is HIGHLY unlikely anyone will notice.

There's no reason anyone should consider vaping any more offensive than a mismatched outfit. We have nothing to be ashamed of. In a restaurant I ask and I've yet to be turned down. If I ever do get turned down, I'll be polite about it and I won't do it. I also won't go back.

If you insist on acting like you're smoking, that's how you're going to be treated. I for one, prefer to promote the difference.

I only vape where smoking is allowed and I stealth vape in the stalls on public bathrooms. If I wanted to vape somewhere visible where smoking was not allowed I would ask permission. It is a private establishment and they do not have to allow vaping (or swim suits, or pets or anything else). Don't believe those BS commercials and ripoff rebranders who try to tell people they can vape wherever they want and just ignore employees who try to stop them - it's just not true.

Curiosity and common courtesy 'insist' on just asking!

Curiosity, I've asked two local eating establishments and both said vaping is OK. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't asked. Doh...

Courtesy, when in those eateries, I do blow the vape down into my lap. I don't hide vaping... but I don't create a vapor sauna either.

You may be surprised to find that you can probably go much longer without vaping at all. When I smoked I could not get through a movie without sneaking out for a smoke and out to dinner was a trip outside right after the last bite. I can now go 5-6 hours without giving vaping a thought. It tastes real nice after that much time but I am still not craving it, just really like it. I don't even take it with me anymore when going out to dinner or a movie, just don't feel the need.

So far the only two times I've tried vapeing in a setting like that, some idiot seen me exhale and lit an analog and made a big scene about it. So anymore I don't vape indoors unless smoking is allowed, don't know about your ratio of idiots to bright people in your neck of the woods but I would suggest asking first.
