Mixing mechanical with VV/VW

Hi all, so I'm new to the site but am not so new to vaping. Currently I am using a Caravela clone mechanical with a kayfun and Trident rda. I was wondering though about getting the top portion of the Evic With the digital display to check resistance and adjust voltage/wattage. Has anyone tried this to know if the tube for the caravela would work on it? Looking at the pictures, it appears that if I removed the top cap from the caravela and replaced it with the Evic, it would essentially no longer be a mechanical and I could swap back and forth using the same tube as needed for when I'm running sub ohm on my Trident. Anyone ever tried this? If it doesn't work, I still have my Vamo V5 on the slow boat from China coming from FT.
