Yes, it is a good idea.

I only have one chocolate recipe that is OK (note, not good) and it has flavorings from 3 different producers in it. (Others seem to like it, but I grew up with an aunt who made her own chocolate from scratch and developed a bit of a chocolate snobbery. My uncle, who designed and built the equipment, still uses her recipes and still runs the shop she founded.)

If you haven't mixed different vendor's flavorings together yet, boy, howdy, you are in for a treat sometime soon!

??????

Maybe?

What do you hope to accomplish?

I mix quite a bit of TPA's Extra Blueberry and Capella's Cinnamon Danish Swirl to make Blueberry Muffin for my oldest son. It can be done with Cap's blueberry, but the TPA Extra tastes better in my opinion.

If you have a flavoring from TPA that is close, but not quite perfect, then try the same type of flavor(s) from someone else and mix them and see what happens. Each vendor hits certain notes differently in my experience.

Yes its a great thing to do . I have 4-5 different caramels and sometimes i use 2-3 in a mix . Every caramel is completely different .Not one i have is even similar at all . Im sure that goes for a lot of flavor so yes use different flavors in mixes and yes sometime you can even need more that one of the same flavor in mixes . Capellas are usually my base flavor and TPA,FA etc my tweakers or spices

Heres what i mean for example with caramels

So should I just get flavors that compliment the flavors I already have from TPA?

That's the way I did it Simplyme82. I have a peanut butter that I actually like so I didn't buy Capellas (I will next time I run out tho!) but rather bought flavors that I like and don't have a decent one of already. Also, I love, Love, LOOOVE coffee anything, but I make my own coffee extracts that imo can't be beat. I say buy what you NEED first....you can always try more later ;)
