What's your verdict on the twisted coils Mate? I dabbled with them myself when I first started vaping mainly using two 28g single wires even trying triple twisted on occasion and found the flavour to be a big jump from the normal single single wire build. Your getting much more juice flowing through the coil with a twisted, similar to a clapton

LOL. After you replied, and I in return, I decided to try it. I didn't, because I just rewicked all the ladies today.I hope they're not just made for showthey would make some nice coil porn pics though!!
Anyway, I put the 28×28ga Twisted in and wicked it up. Installed, the ohms are 58 running @12w....and Brunhilde is purring with lots of flavor and no dry hits coming from the fluffy tails.
On another note..Making the Claptons isn't going to be too difficult by hand, I'm sure a drill motor and swivel would speed it up though. I'm not going to get carried away yet, so I don't run out of wire.

I always used a hand drill to make my twisted coils up. Just clamp the two ends of single wire in the chuck and hold the other ends really tight and spin that drill, you can get a little bit more speed happening that way!
I've watched numerous videos using different wires and builds, looking more at the hardware rather than their techniques. The methods are actually simplistic, however the "jig" of choice is key. A cordless drill would definitely change the game!!
I played at it a bit more. I set-up a clamp-on vise with a hook. I pulled off 6ft, folded in half and clamped the ends in my pin-vise for turning. I find doing it the way I did to be relaxing. Each coil uses 177mm (+/-) of wire.

I was skeptical. The coils are somewhat delicate to get in-place, but can be done. 2.5mm @ 1.8 ohm.
