Would straightening a cut of wire with a power drill reduce or increase it's diameter? Does it also change the vape quality? I've just straightened some 22 gauge for a simple macro coil build and I do find that the build produces more vapour and flavour, somehow.

Oh and, does overtightening twisted wire make it just like wire of larger gauges (therefore nulling the benefits of twisted wires).

Does fusing do that too? (Sorry can't help it)

twisted wire has the electrical equivalent to thicker wire, but with more surface area.

I agree, I don't think a quick straighten will impact the quality too much.

I sometimes take the ends of a length of wire and pull it tight with two pliers and that can straighten it too. If you pull really hard you can actually see the wire stretch, I'm interested on what that does. I might take a reading with before and after wire next time.

Twisting a single strand just to straighten it won't do any harm or make much of a difference, as previously mentioned. However, if you keep on twisting it for a while, until it begins to change color, and stop right before it becomes really brittle, you have the ability to make a wickless coil. Roll up a micro and juice it up, that thing will absorb quite a bit of juice.

I'm trying this wire, 26 single strand twisted with 26 dual twisted, 3 wires total.

But then it doesn't fit the post holes....

Anyone wanna review this coil for me?
Maybe use 28 instead?

What atomizer are you using? Yeah, you'll need some good-sized post holes for a coil using that wire. 28ga would fix that problem for sure. I use 28ga twisted kanthal in almost all of my builds, I find it produces the perfect balance of flavor and vapor *for me*. I have a build with 28ga twisted/reverse twisted right now as well (two pieces of 28ga twisted the same way, twisted with each other in the opposite direction). Running a single coil of it in a Hastur RDA at 115 watts, it's a flavor and vapor bomb!

Yeah personally 28 gauge is my all purpose wire. I'm using derringer clone. Hey do you think this wire will give good flavour?

Yep, I don't see any reason why not. There's all kinds of room for juice to hide in the wire once it gets wicked in, that's what seems to boost the flavor. Same reason claptons are so popular. I prefer twisted, simply because I'm not a very patient man and making claptons is a grind for me.
