vv/vw can boost 3.7v to 6v. Never had a SVD to know how they feel or hold up.

so it scales it up to 6v's? i suppose it just drains the battery quicker.

on the user manual for the svd it suggests stacking two 18350 batteries to get the full range of voltages, dunno if anyones has done that? or know if its safe to do that? i assume it as because innokin have put it in the manual?

I've got a first gen Provari, a VAMO 2, and a Lavatube v2. And I'm ordering a new Provari v2.5 in a couple of days.

I endorse them all the way. Like already mentioned above, they're built like tanks. If you're willing to spend the money I highly recommend one.

They also allow you to check ohm resistance and battery life. And compared to some other mods they're really not that big. I'm not a fan of box mods either myself.

If you're just planning to use the ProTank or Aerotank on it, or even if you decide on a Kayfun down the line, they all work well with the Provari.

Now, the Provari does NOT offer VW... But I use carto tanks with various ohm cartos, an Aerotank Mega, and an Aspire Nautilus, and I've never needed VW.

A couple people have suggested Sigelei mods. I've heard good things about them as well. But you don't need a Sigelei 20W or 30W unless you intend on trying out sub-ohming. Which is fine, I support experimentation to anyone, but I don't personally have a use for it. I'm just fine with the tanks and mod abilities that I currently have.

You might consider going with something less expensive like a VAMO at first, and then if you decide you want to experiment a bit with coil building and whatnot, then get something capable of producing 20 or more watts

I have an SVD, and rarely use it because of problems with the fire button (failing to fire, randomly turning off), which is apparently not uncommon. It's not due to misuse, because it never left my desk, was never dropped.

My favorite is my Semovar, though it's a bit of a battery hog, and it's expensive, but it's VV/VW, with adjustable center pole and end cap contact. It comes with the 18650 tube, and I paid extra to get the 18500 and 18350 tubes, and mostly use it with the smallest tube, even though I have to change the batteries fairly often; I just like the smaller form factor. It's a dream with my Kayfun Lite. It's also supposed to be able to convert to a mechanical mod by removing the chip and adding a bottom-firing button kit, but as far as I know that bottom switch is not yet available. If you need to change the chip (if it goes bad or gets damaged), you can actually do it yourself, and all parts are individually replaceable, so if you have a failure, you can just replace the problem part, rather than scrapping the whole thing. It feels just beautiful, sleek, and well-made in my hand.

My next favorite is my ProVari Mini, which is an ECF huge favorite (along with the regular ProVari), and just a great, dependable, reliable, rugged, quality device, but doesn't have VW, and I miss that adjustable center pole that I have on the Semovar. I got the extension cap for it, so I can use it with 18500 batteries, but again, I usually stick with 18350. I also got a SvoëMesto tank ring so that 22 mm tanks will fit flush (if the center pin is long enough; I have no trouble with the Kayfun Lite on it, but some other tanks don't quite reach with the tank ring on). The ProVari is also expensive, and there will probably be a new version out sometime within the next year that will surely include VW. If something goes wrong with it, you will need to send it to ProVari for repair, but they are known for standing behind their product. Pretty much everyone who gets a ProVari loves it.

My next favorites are my Innokin iTaste MVP, and my iTaste VV v3s. I like to switch flavors a lot, so I use these every day, too, usually with my smaller glassomizers on the MVP and VVs, and Kayfuns or Davide glassomizers on the Semovar and ProVari. The MVP and VVs are VV/VW and work great: serious value for the low cost. The VVs are only 800 mAh, though, so it's good to have more than one. However, both the VVs and the MVP work as passthroughs, so you can vape while charging, if you need to. I take the VVs with me when I go out, because they are light and small, and it won't be tragic if I lose one. But I also just use them normally inside, too. And I love the MVP for it's long battery life, and because sometimes I just feel like I want the box mod in my hand. Never any problem with the VVs or MVP. I love them.

So! Those are just the mods I have and use, and whatever extras I bought for them (useful to know). The only ones I almost never use are the SVD and the eGos I started out with.

The SVD would be good if it weren't for the firing problem. I like that it accommodates both 510 and eGo threaded atties, and though I'm not really fond of the telescoping look, it's definitely convenient for giving you a choice of different batteries. Apparently Innokin is coming out with a new one, which is likely to be good, since Innokin has a good reputation for successful updates of popular products, but I haven't really heard much yet about these.

Whatever you decide to get, you might want to regularly check out the ECF classifieds to see if someone is selling. Good luck with your search!
