It's generally recommended to use an external charger for removable batteries. It's safer, won't strain the mod or destroy the USB port by continually charging that way. You "can" charge by USB if the manufacturer states that you can, and in a pinch, it's probably fine. Best practice is still to charge using a dedicated charger, and following safety rules (decent charger, don't charge overnight, remove batteries and let them rest once charged, and etc.

Best of luck, and welcome to ECF.

Get battery from imr, orbtronic or other reputable vendor. Avoid amazon, and eBay for battery purchase. Xtar make good inexpensive charger and like the above post says get two batteries so you always have one on deck. Also good idea to avoid taking battery out of mod and directly on to charger or off charger and into mod. Give the cell a little rest period in between. Good luck be safe and enjoy

I'd also recommend an external charger - with one caveat. You need a good charger. Using a good external charger is better than charging in the mod, but it's better to charge in-mod than to use a bad external charger.

Xtar, Nitecore and Efest LUC chargers are reasonably priced, decent quality devices. They aren't the only good brands, but I'm not as familiar with them and they tend to have extra features (good if you understand them, but not necessary) and higher price tags (not so good).

The magic of a spare battery and external charger is the instantness of it. Swap batteries and poof! You’re charged. Very handy.
This, (as usual).
With an external and another quality battery you don't have to stress charging and vaping while charging. Be sure to get a good battery case if you do this and carry the spare. Never transport a loose battery.

Battery cases are cheap, burn units aren't.

I prefer removable battery mods, and I charge in an external charger. I have several chargers, of varying makes and models, acquired over the years, and I keep them in various convenient locations. But yes, an external charger and a spare battery is a step in the right direction.

Good question, the only people who really know the answer is the KangerTech representatives of your model.
Could contact:
KangerTech US--Atlanta, GA--888-799-1988
Hours of Operation: Mo-Fr: 9:00am-5:30pm EST
Or
Could check with nearest distributors on the Kanger site they may know the correct answer.
