Let me suggest the Kanger Subox. It runs up to 50 watts, which is a great deal more power than you're used to with eGos. And it comes bundled with the Subtank, which is very versitile and can be used in many different ways. There are other options, as well. The Sigelei Mini Book, the Smok Treebox and the Cloupor Mini plus are all one battery mods that are small, easy to use, and have replaceable batteries.

What kind of tanks are you looking to use? What kind of wattage range do you usually vape at? Are you interested in temp control? Dual or single 18650?
So far I only used the old CE4 and now I'm using the T3S which I like because I change the coil and wick myself regularly without costing too much. To be honest I'm now sure what wattage the ego I have are and temp control is something new for me. Dual or single!! I guess better single just to be a smaller device

Are they safe?? Been searching a bit on mods and some say they can be a bit dangerous. Plus I really don't want to spend a fortune

safe enough, I think. Pretty much all regulated mods are safer than the eGos you're used to. As for price... I bought my woman a Mini Book for Christmas, $34. Two batteries and a 2-bay charger, about another $20. Aspire Nautilus or GS Air tank-- both great for MTL-- can usually be found <$30. That puts you in the $70 range, which is the price of the Kanger kit plus batteries and charger. The other two mods I recommended can all be had under 40 bucks. I really like my Treebox, I think it's beautiful (Zebrawood with a red stain.) And it's smaller and lighter than my SX Mini; a bit bigger than a Mini Book. Check out Vapenw.

I too have the Treebox (love wooden box mods). It's the only TC mod I have. How does it perform as compared to other TC mods you have? I am currently running at around 560F, hard, NI coils.

sorry, Susan. I've never run it in TC mode. I'm not a huge fan of TC. I am about to have another go at it, though.

If you already rebuild your T3S, the subtank comes with an RBA deck...so you can rebuild your own coils on that as well.

I like the subtank OK (using one now) but it can be a bit overwhelming coming from a T3s. Might knock you on your .... 'til you get used to it. The drip tip is more like a tailpipe, but I'm a 3 year vaper and have many drip tips laying around to swap it out.

As a beginner, I started with the Kangertech Nano & it is a very good beginner's model. That being said, it wasn't more than a week or two when I wished I had a Mini for the extra capacity. That being said, I'm now about to pull the trigger on the new Kanger KBox 120 watt. I'm liking sub-ohming, especially since I ditched the Nano's tank (clearomizer?) for the bigger, Crown top-fill model. I think it will be perfect on top the KBox.

Plus 1 for the ZMax. If you're happy with your current tanks or you can upgrade tanks in the future as long as you start above 1.5 ohm or so. They also can accommodate your choice of three different battery sizes. You can see how well they fit the hand if you click on my avatar. The blue one has an 18350 battery and T3XL tank. The Green has an 18650 with Evod tank.
Whatever you choose, I hope you find what's "right for you" on your first try. Took me 6 months.

It's only 15W/6V max, but I figure it will work great with one of my Kayfuns. I'll prolly have to put a new coil on one though to get something that will work with it. May have to get some 30G kanthal. Only fires down to 1.2 ohms. One of my KFL's is at 1.6, but I don't think 15W will work for a 2.5mm 8 wrap coil. Lol! On the bright side an LG HG2 should keep it running for a while at 15W or less.
