Hello All,

I was looking for some clarification on the use of wall USB outlets with ego-style charger adapters and box mods with USB ports. I understand that I should only use the charger that comes with my device for charging. But do I need to take into consideration the amp potential of the USB port, that I plug that charger (or box mod) into, be it .5A or 2+ A? I've always assumed that the charger adapter that comes with the device (or built into it) regulates how many amps can be pulled, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks

You are correct that the ego charger you plug into the wall adapter will determine how much power it takes, but only up to what the adapter can give- the adapter will make a difference as well. With ego chargers, most are 420mah, and most adapters are either 500 or 1000mah. Either adapter would be fine because they exceed the chargers ability. Same goes for your 2000mah and 2100mah (2A, 2.1A) adapters. The charger will still only take 420mah. The charger pulling more than the adapter would not be good.

With rechargable box mods and USB charging devices, I'm sorry but I've never had one of those and never did the research.
