Hi everyone,

I have never used anything other than Ego type batteries. I am attempting to make the leap into mechanical mods, the only reason for this is for longer battery life. I am interested in the smok Magneto. My first question is will I get better battery life out of a 18350 battery before charging as opposed to a 650 or 1000mah Ego? My second question how long do 18650 batteries last before charging? My third question is this mod comes with 510 threading, so will an EVOD work with a 510/Ego connector? I know this would look a little funky, but I love the EVOD's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I personally don't think you should look to a mechanical for the battery life. The battery, whether 18350, 500 or 650 .. comes off the charger at 4.2 volts and starts dropping from there. At some point, be it 3.8, 3.7 or whatever. .your vape quality will start to suffer and you'll toss the battery back on the charger.

When not using rebuildables, I use a 1.5ohm Cisco spec atomizer on my mechs and I feel the need to change an 18650 2000mah battery after about 2-3 hours of heavy vaping. The battery is usually around 3.7 when I take it out. My ego 650 lasts me all day at work or at least half a day at home with heavy vaping.

Now, if I put the same 18650 battery into a variable voltage/wattage mod ...like a VAMO or something . .it would last me a lot longer since I could run it down to 3.4 (or whatever the cut-off of my mod is) and still get the same power to my coil.

I'm actually really keen on getting the Innokin VTR when it comes out for this reason .. variable wattage, takes an 18650 and should easily last me all day (plus) with an AW 18650 2000mah battery. There are other pv's out there now that do this . .I just am waiting for the VTR because I like the looks of it.

You can use an evod on a magneto with the 510 to ego adapter.
