MOD possible using a USB Passthrough ?

Hi, newbie modder here,

Is it possible to make a battery mod by using a USB passthrough ?
I guess it's a case of finding a 5V battery ?

yeh!, i never seen one of those before (not with the battery anyway).
so once once the battery is charged, it's portable - cool!

Your question confuzzles me.... If you have a PT, and you want to make it portable, you can take a 4aa box, and a usb extension cable, cut the male usb end (the end that you plug into the computer) off the usb extention, wire the red/black wires from the box to the red/black wires from the usb cord... I recommend using Ni-Mh batts, since 4 alkalines don't last long, and the V is a little high on 4 alkalines.... I've done it, works well...

6V is not a problem then? I guess it goes down a little once plugged in.
I just gotta find me one of those 4aa boxes.

If you use NiMH batteries, that box will run at 1.2X4 or 4.8 volts.
