Hello everyone.
I am new to mods; I have had a VTR for about a month and really do like it. I would like to get a mod for my wife (her current battery is about shot), and I need some advice/guidance.
I would like to get her something that takes the same type battery (18650) as my VTR just to make things easy. However...she is a little picky- She thinks that the size/heft of mods is ridiculous, so I need to try to find one that is as small as possible. In addition to size, the controls need to be super basic- pressing multiple buttons to change between functions will probably not be acceptable.
I know that beggars can't be choosers, but I thought that this would be the best place to ask. I guess a smaller battery would be acceptable, so long as I can put it in my charger.
Suggestions??
Ideas??
Recommendations??
Otherwise, I guess I'll just get her a regular VV battery. Again, suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated, in case I end up going that route. I should note that she likes the passthroughs, so she can vape at night while it charges.

Thanks all,
David

You won't really find a very light mod that takes 18650, unless you go mechanical with a resettable saftey fuse. But An mvp2 is always an option. Or a innokin vv3. But an 18650 is 2000 mah so she wouldn't need to run on pass through as much because they last much longer and just swap out.

There is a decent joytech mod that is aluminum, takes 18650 and only has a simple button with 3 options.

I don't think you're going to find a mod that uses 18650's and is small/ light. A MVP is almost identical to a VV but with a bigger battery. Also the MVP might help her get use to a heavier weight. For simple button functions there's always the provari with the extension cap for the 18650. Not trying to start the unholy of wars... But the provari has only 1 button which seems a bit odd at first but becomes natural. Worse case scenario you buy it for her she doesn't like it and someone in your house has to use it ;)

As Jeremy said, When I think small + 18650 nothing comes up, now when you say "..to make things easier..? you mean in terms of using the same charger? if that's the case, all chargers I've used for 18650 fit do accommodate other batteries like 18350, 18490, 18500
Anyway, the smok Zmax is simple to use and is thinner than most 18650 mods, the mini version is considerably smaller but uses 18350. other than that is thinking Innokin Itazte v3 or ego twists......

I second the recommendation for an MVP 2.0. It's a definite step down in heft from a VTR and has the convenience of USB charging. The controls are also very easy.

If she would prefer a tube mod, I also agree on a provari. Super easy to use and if you get a mini with extension cap she can use an 18350 or 18490.

If you have a local B&M, maybe take her down and have her check some out in person. Even if you order online, it might help her get a feel for what she would or wouldn't like. (They might not have provari's, but should have something similar enough in size.)

I vote for an MVP. Vv and VW, easy to use. Small enough to carry around and stash in purse or pocket if needed. Battery is 2600 man and lasts a very long time in between charges. Can also be used as a passthrough while charging. The itaste vv v 3 is also a good choice with same features minus the honking battery. I think she'd be happy with either. :)

Well, I'd have to +1 for the Provari/Zmax suggestion. If you have an intellicore charger, it will take most batteries. Most chargers that take 18650's expand and contract to take 18350. Only downside, is the one button. To change from one menu to the next, you have to click it a certain number of times to get to the right screen then stop for a second when you get there, then slowly presss to power it up. The multiple button mods are easier to understand, but they're usually on the larger size.

The other option is to go with a slimmer size battery. A 14500 isn't that much larger than an EGO One mod that comes to mind, is the Swig.. here's one seller: $43.90 Swig 6-in-1 Voltage Adjustable USB Rechargeable 700mAh Electronic Cigarettes Health Keeping Set - with four cotton wicks atomizer/LCD displayed battery at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping . The only downside to this, is the 14500... it won't be sold everywhere. It can be charged either through the EGO connection, or just take the battery out to put into a charger. Again, many chargers witll take this as well.

There is also the Volt VOT as seen here: 14500 Variable Volt VOT

Or the Vision RS as seen here: Vision RS VV Battery - Vision Electronic Cigarette

They're all Variable voltage, small with a replaceable battery.

Wow guys...thanks for all the advice. I did NOT expect such a great response so quickly. I will check all these out and show them to my wife sto see what she thinks.
BTW, I guess I wasn't all that clear in my innitial post. The passthrough remark was only IF we decided that a mod wasn't best for her and went instead with a basic twist type VV battery.
Thanks again to everyone who took the time to answer my questions,
David
