Mod to end all Mods (6 month project)

It came off a micro gooseneck flashlight, but you can get them lots of places. The most popular is probably those mini double-header screwdrivers, which are often free because they have a company logo stamped on them.

It works great.
I put a bit of tape on the curly part that grips the side of the PV, to keep it from scratching the finish too badly.

Actually, this is pretty convenient.
I don't alwats have shirt pockets to stick it in while at work, so I tuck it above a button and clip it on.

I was being sarcastic with the title, but I'm serious about the post.
I think the pen clip is a good idea and it comes in very handy.

Very simple and easy (obviously) but works great.

AmplexorJ agrees with me, and maybe someone who hadn't thought of it would like the idea and appreciate me posting it.
I have seen equally simple mods on here, and nobody complaining about it.

See the issue here is that there are sone of us that take our modding prowess way too seriously. Present company included. So when we see a title as such as what you posted our immediate cave-man reaction is something like this...
WHAT?!!! mod to end all mods, my ... it is!! MUST SEE!! open... open... why is it taking so long to load???? what if it's better than mine? then what? Oh, I hope it sucks.... it's probably better than mine, now I have to make something new... DAMN!!!!! I hate him............ wait??? WTF??? A PEN CLIP???? Are you serious? A friggin pen clip... Now what do I do with this adrenalin surge? I know, rip that post to shreds, how dare he threaten my modding prowess.


Something like that.

So what have we learned today in forum Etiquette 101?

While joking is all good and fine, best to be careful with titles that can be interpreted into an instant pissing contest.

I can definitely understand taking it seriously.
I am a bit if a gearhead myself, I just haven't had the time to get into any serious modding of PV's yet.

Ridiculous unnecessary thread heading.

The wonderful mod (idea) you present here has been solved, talked and discussed many times in the forum.

The sense of humor you ask for is there even if you don't understand it. Trust me, I laughed when I saw your post, but I was not laughing about what you think I should laugh about.

If you ask for sense of humor, you should be the first one to have it...

I searched the forum with various word combinations looking for this and din't find it.
I spent a good deal of time lurking in the different forums before I started posting here - some of the mods really kick ... and lurking the mod threads can be addictive - and I hadn't come across it.
I did see a few about gluing pen clips on and making small holders out of glue containers and other ideas, but not this one.

If it was discussed - so be it - but to my knowledge this was not posted. I assumed the reason it wasn't posted was because it was so simple that people who did think of it had thought it too simple to post (precicely because so many people here are very serious about their modding) and rather assumed it must be obvious to everyone.
That was also the reason I chose the subject I did - because it was so ridiculously simple and almost blatantly obvious.

Not to keep beating on you or beat a dead horse, but iken (and jeff in a previous post) really nailed it on the head.

We should probably end this thread before it gets ugly. But in no way do I want this thread to dissuade you from trying to present your ideas or mods to the forum.....the pen clip idea, while already presented, was a truly stunning idea in it's simplicity and effectiveness. Just please use a little caution in the wording of your titles and threads. Thank you.
