Do any other mod users get the stupid "drug pipe" comments/question? I have to say it's really, really getting old. It's pretty much a daily thing whether I am using my Vamo or my MVP. I'm seriously getting tired of it.

I got mad at a guy in a bar recently for it and asked him "Why does everyone ask the same stupid question?" and I snapped at one of our mechanics today when he made such a comment. As I am usually an easy going, friendly sort the mechanic got all wide eyed and backed off from me with a confused look on his face. I'm just really getting sick of those comments.

If so, how do you deal with it? I used to make a joke of it but now I am just tired of it.

Tell them it's a recital thermometer and ask them if they want you to take their temperature.

I say "yes it is" and turn around and walk away. that really leaves em wondering.

Just chill man. Some people are genuinely curious and are just asking a commonly asked question. For some reason many people not in the know equate a mod and tank to a water pipe, or hookah, or "the other" type of pipe. I always wonder just where have they seen these other devices to make the comparison. Hmmmmm.

My personal physician calls my Provari a water pipe. I have no real problem with that, even though I spent a good ten minutes explaining what it is and how it works. One of the docs that I work with told me that he had bought a cigalike to use in situations where he can't smoke; I showed him my Provari and pyrex tank and he said, "That's a G** D*** hookah pipe!!"

Most people by now know that a cigalike is an e-cigarette. Just tell them what you have is an "advanced e-cigarette", which is the truth. Often that is enough to satisfy their curiosity. For others, it spurs more questions, which is fine with me. I believe the more patient and enthusiastic that we vapors are in educating smokers or non-smokers the more accepted vaping will become.

I just tell them:

- No It's just an electronic cigarette, then I pause.... No, I mean, it's a KICKASS!!! electronic cigarette!

I tell them it's a turbo charged e-cig, and a self defense weapon to boot!

The best explanation I ever came across was when a member said somebody thought he was smoking in the store with his cigalike. He said it was an inhaler that kept him out of jail and others out of the hospital. Seriously, you get used to it and super, turbo charged or kickass e-cig generally covers it pretty well
