First before I begin let me state something. In no way shape or form is this meant to "bash" Modern Vapor or Tony. He has outstanding customer service and his equipment and parts IMO are second to none. I've purchased atty's from other retailers and still stay with my 902's. After finding out that 902's perform on 510 battery connectors there is no need for me to ever buy atty's from anywhere but him. That being said.....

A few days ago I received a package in the mail from Modern Vapor. As always purchase turnaround beats every other vendor i've ordered from.

I opened my package and one of the juices I had ordered was a 10ml bottle of 24mg 555. I believe this is a 100% PG juice but don't quote me on that one. There are a couple different types of juices on Tony's site. My first disappointment was that it had a production date of 01/06/2010(Happy Birthday to it). Now I've juggled this around a few times, posted on this issue and many ideas have come up. For instance, Maybe the date is reversed because it's of asian origin? That would make it a few months younger. Anyway, it was surprising to me. I was also told that due to juices needing to "steep" it should actually mean it's better than it would have been had it been freshly mixed. I don't have a new bottle of this juice so I could'nt answer that. Then we get into storage, what type of facility or conditions was this liquid stored in? Was it exposed to elements, temperatures not conducive to liquid containing nicotine? All in all it raised some questions.

Well I decided today to just put my assumptions and predictions to rest and just try the juice.

Visually it is a golden color, a color I have I have become to associate with chinese juice. When tipping the bottle back and forth it really makes me think it is a PG mix as it's on the thinner side.

Olfactory wise, the best way to put this is it smells like a cup of water that someone used as an ashtray with a bunch of butts floating in it for a few days. With a tinge of sweetness.

I used a freshly charged trustfire 18650 in my Bombshell with a Modern Vapor ss902 atty and a fresh cart with a fresh blue foam mod in it.

Throat Hit- There isn't a great difference between a one and two stage inhale on this one. It does have a satisfying throat hit and leaves a little sharpness in the back of your throat after exhale which even seems to stay with you longer than other juices I've tried.

Vapor Production - Even on my bombshell it's not that great, again i'll contribute that to the PG. It definitely leaves you desiring more. It's deceiving because of the decent throat hit you would assume to exhale more vapor but it's the price you pay for a PG mix. Better throat hit, weaker vapor production.

Flavor - On the inhale its quite mild, slight sweetness. On the exhale it's a disaster. If I was to actually lick an ashtray this is what I would believe it to taste like. Wet dirty tobacco ash, the sweetness has disappeared but I seem to taste a faint hint of cocoa. Weird and for the accuracy of my review I have endured numerous hits to infact decide if it's cocoa I do in taste and it is. There is also another flavor lingering around but I can't quite put my finger on it as I feel I want to wipe the ash taste off my tongue.

In conclusion, this is not something I would ever buy again, Maybe there was a time back when it was produced where it was better but right now it's not even something I would give away. I know of juices maturing with age, getting a better flavor profile almost like wine, but not sure if it can happen the other way around. For instance something that gets worse with age like milk.

As I always say my reviews are my interpretation of objectively reviewing a subjective thing, taste. No where am I saying I am right, that you should agree or that I have the same tastes as you the reader. I am simply placing my opinion out here for people to read and for myself as an almost list of what I myself think if there ever was a time I went back to a juice that I had shelfed for a while and was curious as to my thoughts.

Tony at Modern Vapor is a great guy, his customer service is awesome, he probably would have let me exchange it but it's too much of a hassle to me especially when I've never been the type to demand a refund on a consumable.

I could speculate for days on why I received a year old bottle but it's not important. It's not going to turn me off continuing to do business with modern Vapor it just has turned me off from ever buying a chinese made PG juice ever again.

thanks for reading my latest review and happy vaping!!!!!
