This is just my $0.02 after purchasing from both companies and spending time with their product. I hope others will find this to be useful when searching for the more traditional sized e-cig.
:Shipping:
Safecig - takes up to 48 hours to process your order and then ships. In my case, cartomizers that I had ordered were stated to be in stock but were not and thusly held up my order for an additional 4 days. I was not contacted about this delay or the reason for it until I reached out to the company.
Modern Vapor - shows what is and what is not in stock in real time on their web site. My order was processed and shipped within 2 hours of check out.
:Battery:
Safecig - battery cost $24.95. It is 90 mAh. It is white with painted lines and an orange LED. They sell a power version (100 sized battery) that is 280 mAh and cost $32.95.
Modern Vapor – battery cost $14.95 and is 180 mAh: The offer auto and manual in colors of white, white with lines, silver, red, blue and black. LED colors offered are Amber, Red, Blue, Pink, Green and Pink.
:Size:
Safecig – Micro is a point thicker but 3 points shorter than the Modern Vapor battery. I would consider the Modern Vapor battery closer to 100 sizes but not that long.
Safecig – Micro falls more on the ‘easy but airy’ side.
Modern Vapor – is a soft pull and silent. It feels more like puffing on a real cigarette.
:Battery Life:
Safecig – Micro will offer 20-30 minutes of normal to high use.
Modern Vapor – at the time of writing this, I am puffing like crazy on a battery that is not even fully charged. LOL.
:Cartomizers:
Safecig – cartomizers (deep plastic cap) come in 13 flavors via packs of 7 for $16.95 per box. Flavor is subjective so I will not mention it. The cartomizers work well for the first 20 or so puffs but will then begin to leak e-liquid at the top. The flavor begins to fade/dry out within a few hours of normal use. Safecig does not offer blank cartomizers.
Modern Vapor – cartomizers (plastic cap but easy to pop) come in 2 flavors (tobacco & Menthol) via packs of 5 for $9.95 per box. Flavor is subjective so I will not mention it. The vapor production is wonderful. I feel every puff. Modern Vapor offers blank cartomizers via 5 for $9.45 per box. They are available in Tan, white and black. In addition, there is a large variety of cartridges (use with atomizer) in various colors and flavors/blanks and drip tips.
Safecig – PCC has slots for 3 cartomizers and 1 battery (charge slot). The top pops off (not a flip top). They are sleek in appearance and are available in silver, red and blue. Cost when sold separately is $49.95.
Modern Vapor– PCC has slots for 5 cartomizers and 1 atomizer and 2 batteries. The unit is a flip top. The appearance is more that of a traditional cigarette box (flip lid) and are available with a black base color and a red, blue, green or pink accent color. Cost when sold separately is $24.95. My only complaint is that you cannot place a fully assembled cig into the PCC.
:Support:
Safecig – I requested additional specs for the Micro Max battery via a support ticket. Safecig replied 9 days later.
Modern Vapor – I requested additional specs of the Sidesho battery via email. 15 minutes later, I was contacted by the owner. I then asked if an there was an active coupon code to apply to my first order. 5 minutes later, I was contacted by a person within the company and was able to save 10% off of my first order.
Note: Modern Vapor did make a simple mistake on our order. I received a manual battery with red LED. I ordered 4 auto with amber. No big deal. Hubby likes it. I am sure they would replace if I emailed about it.
:My Conclusion:
Modern Vapor is without question the superior company and the Sidesho is an improved choice when seeking the more traditional sized e-cig. I have used the ePuffer Colibri, Safecig Micro, NuCig Micro and the 510.
Thanks for reading,
