The .4Ω coil is supposed to be Kanthal. That should run in regular wattage mode. If I understand you, you have to push the fire button down and wait 3 secs before it makes vapor? If so, try raising the wattage some. Go up is small steps.

well, I "hit" it the first time and nothing .. then again and nothing and finally the third time (back to back) I get a nice cloud.

Sounds like it is not hot yet for the first two tries. That's a pretty common problem for the complex and massive coil builds the cloud chasers use, but not too common in the prefab coil regime that I am aware. Rather than raising the wattage, try pushing the fire button, counting to 3, then inhaling. If that works, what's wrong is the wire's not hot yet. Then raising the wattage should help.

i will say ... i do like a big cloud ... not sure why but it helps the transition from smoking! :)

There doesn't have to be a reason, Lyssie. If that's what gets you off the sticks, then that's what you need to do. Crank the wattage up and blow cloud. And learn how to DIY so you don't drive yourself into bankruptcy zooming through all that juice :)

Some of the newest coils need even more power than I can imagine.

I have a Nickel coil in a tank at the moment which seems dead at anything less than 45-50 watts. (550 f)

(Having said I was quitting TC).... whoops. :p

Just curious if this is the same thing that happened to me. I had the NI200 SSOCC in my toptank and even at 470F It just refused to fire. I ended up unscrewing the tank and screwing it back into the 510 on the Kbox mini and everything was good again.

Perhaps it wasn't making contact with the pin?

@Lyssie Although I've had a subox mini for the past few months, I just recently picked a topbox mini as well. I'll try to help out the best I can. One thing that concerns me about this kit is that this thing will fire in any mode with any coil so please be careful. All you really have to do is know what coil you got in there and to always glance at the screen and make sure you're in the right mode.

Also, does Kanger even make the Stainless Steel SSOCC available for purchase? All I can see are the NI200's. And when on earth are they going to release TC Nichrome and TC TI? I guess kanger is releasing these later?

In Kanger's homepage, there are the SSOCC Stainless Steel for Subtank/Toptank/Nebox as well as the Nickel SSOCC for TC

I meant the SS coils for TC. Yes they are all called SSOCC but you have to rememember, the SS in SSOCC only stands for the stainless steel housing and not the actual wire. I just checked and they still aren't listed. My Vapor store was selling them but they are out of stock. Either way, Kanger isn't selling them on their website. That makes MVS sort of suspect.. especially with Kanger never getting back to me about my questions on when these coils will be made available.

I just don't understand why Kanger would release this product with a Ni, SS (both for TC) and a Kanthal Clapton... and not have the coils available for SS TC, NC TC, and TI TC. I mean they obviously make the stainless steel (the pink o ring coil which came with the kit) and the Nickle but the only TC option we have as far as premade coils are the Nickle currently according to their website.

Take care!
