Hello I am a new member so I can't post this anywhere else. I have been vaping for more than a month using v2 batteries with their cartridges. I got an ego style battery and cartomizer, but both broke shortly after I got them and I decided that it is easier to keep several small v2 batteries than 1 large battery that could break and is hard to store in your pocket.
The problem seems to be the same one everyone has with similar cartomizers. The filler material burns very easily. I pulled out the filler and straw-like center piece and found that the coil for this type is soldiered directly to the bottom of the cartridge opposite the side that is screwed to the battery and positioned over the hole and is not damaged by removing the filler. I replaced the plasticy filler with cotton from a cotton ball wrapped around the "straw" and there is no burnt plastic smell, but the cotton seems to be developing dark spots and I am stuck with the original straw which could burn too.
Has anyone found a better way to replace these? I ordered these, but I still have a lot of empty cartridges and the metal seems to be more robust than plastic so I am curious.
