Clearomizers have a reservoir thats like a tank that holds a certain amount of liquid.Kanger T3's, Stardust and ViVi Novas are all clearomizers internally. The utilize a string wick system that absorbs the juice and wicks to the coil.

Carto tanks are more commonly referred to as "tanks" and consist of a cartomizer that has holes punched from the factory or by the user. These are inserted into a plastic or pyrex glass tube and filled with liquid. The juice goes through the holes in the carto and is absorbed by silicon batting on the inside. When properly primed this keeps the batting constantly wet.The coils are inside this batting and when you press the button you get vapor.

Low resistance atomizers are typically used by lower voltage devices like straight Ego batteries or mechanical mods.

Standard resistance works well in variable voltage or variable wattage mods where you can set the voltage/wattage higher than 3/7 volts/8watts.

Hope that helps.

Hi mate,

First of all the best way to learn is by trying, and also talking to the vendors in vaping shops too!

A clearomizer is a type of tank - a tank just means a reservoir that holds the liquid; a clearomizer is as far as i understand, a 'transparent' tank system so you can see the liquid inside.

Heating wire resistance is much more important and is a measure of how much heat or energy your heating wire produces for a given voltage. Low resistances produce more heat and vapour then high resistance wires... this depends on what voltage you are using... so for an ego device running at 3.7 volts, a 3 ohm atomiser wont produce as much vapour as a 1.5 ohm. But its up to you how much throat hit you want, and also depends on the liquid type since some can burn at hotter temperatures which produce burnt tastes.

Learn by trying! I bought all kinds of atomisers when i first started and slowly found the ones i preferred. good luck

Were both right here. "Tank" is being used to describe certain clearomizers nowadays but the original tanks were made here on ECF in the modders forums out of plastic tubes and cartomizers that they punched holes in. You'll still hear vets refer to them as tanks or carto tanks.

Newer clearomizers (those coming out in the past 6-12 months) , particularly the ViVi Nova blur the line a little bit and are also referred to as tanks.

Perhaps clearo tank would be a better (and less confusing) description?
