Hi all,

I'm digging in to a lot of the models with the evolv chips, vaporflask, vaporshark, solaris, etc. What seperates all of these models and what features do you look for when chosing the right mod for you? Obviously all of them have the same chip so we can look at customer service and design for personal prefence, but what else?

Another question is in regards to innovation. What would you like to see in a new model other than increased power? Personally, I don't care for >40 watts. I'm curious on people's thoughts on the subject and the creative thinking of others...what would you like to see in a new mod?

Thanks!
Dan

I've also been looking at the DNA 40s. It seems though as you look at all the mods that use this chip that price is going to be the limiting factor, no matter the design. If temperature control is gonna change vaping in any way, then it gonna have to be affordable. Most folks aren't going to shell out 200 bucks or more for the unknown, especially the new vapers. And we need more than one maker of products designed for this chip.

Since starting vaping, it has turned into quite a hobby for me. Playing around with the ability to control temperature is my next fascination. I don't really care for box mods; I've spent too much time making tubes look good. Besides that, I like the feel of tubes in my hand a lot more. Really don't want to have to use two batteries either. Now I'm back to carefully pairing batteries, for safety's sake anyway. The only tube mod I've seen uses a 26650 battery. No problem for me, but it is rather big and heavy.

As far as the watts, it can always be adjusted down. It's not that I need 40 watts, but for a nickel coil, you will need the ability to deliver a large amount of current. a .2 ohm coil really sucks the amps. If a chipmaker produces a chip that delivers that amount of current, then the watts-delivered ability is gonna be higher than what a lot of people want; simply because it has a high current output. You can always adjust the power down if you don't want that much. Adjusting the watts up and down, driving low ohm coils which require high currents, keeping safe by not emitting unwanted substances.............Yeah, it's coming.

Give us the mod design choices that we've been enjoying, lower the price point, make it small enough that it doesn't rip a hole in your pocket..........
Just be patient, it's coming. At least that's what I keep telling myself. But since I'm a rather impatient soul, that may not last much longer.

Thanks guys!

Steve, why US and EU? Vaporshark for eg is made in china and it has no deficiencies or issues in terms of quality control and assurance is concerned. Curious on your thoughts. It would be expensive to produce a dna powered mod other than China for a resell point of <$200.

Made in China generally equals disposable... Price isn't an issue when I buy vape gear, but if I wanted a China body DNA mod, I'd just buy a DNA board for $60 and a counterfeit VS, swap out the boards and have the same thing for $100...

I have a vaporshark rdna40 and a solara dna30. What separates both of them to me is 'ease of use'. The vs rdna40 is nice for a portable mod as it is small, but for ease of use I prefer to use my dna30 solara mod most of the time. The screen of my solara is easily checkable compared to the vaporshark, the solara is on the side whereas the screen on the rdna40 is on the bottom. Some might also say the solara may be 'too big' or 'oversized', but i feel the grip of the solara to be more comfortable as I can grab it with my full hand and hold it in my fist, comapred to the rdna40 where it fits 'inside' my hand. Dont get me wrong I love them both, but the solara30 seems more comfortable and easier to use, the vaporshark looks much slicker though and is more 'user friendly' as the dna40 board has reverse polarity protection and you can change the battery on your own. The solara you cannot change the battery on your own and have to send it in for battery replacement, although the side screen is much more convenient than the dna40 bottom screen. The size of the solara is much more 'comfortable' to hold, but the rdna40 has a nicer looking portable look, not as comfortable as the solara though imo.

If I were in the market for a DNA powered mod, I'd only consider ones made in the USA or Europe...

youd be surprised, im not 100% sure but i believe the vaporshark is designed in US. it is small, but it is NOT made of plastic as some people say. It has a heftier weight than youd imagine and is SOLID built regardless if it was made in china or not. The vaporshark rDNA40 actually feels heavier and more solid than my Solara DNA30 despite being smaller and more compact, their recent release of the vaporshark with the dna40 boards is a quality product 100%, ive held hana modz, ipvs, sigeleis, and if you dont take into account form factor, this vaporshark rdna40 feels more solid and well built than all the ones i mentioned.

I wouldn't trust the wiring, button or 510 connection; plus I buy American or European whenever possible...
